Back to Work :(

Well, Spring Break was way too short and today it's back to work! Makes me so nervous, because the recital will be here before I know it. I tried to get some stuff done over Spring Break, but I didn't get enough done. I enjoyed my little guy and my husband way too much - Brandon had Thurs. and Fri. off, so we had a great time. We golfed on Thursday, went the rodeo on Friday, swam on Saturday, and did Easter on Sunday - busy, busy, busy!

This week, we got tickets to the UT basketball game on Friday evening at Reliant so we are super-pumped about that. Then on Saturday we're headed to Austin w/ Dayton to go to the football spring scrimmage and a baseball game in the evening - full day but I know Dayton will love it! We're gonna be staying w/ Cass and Scotty, so we are very excited. It's only Monday and I can't wait for the weekend to be here.

Spring Break / Easter

Well, this week's been a pretty busy week w/ Spring Break and all. We're trying to get everything in while we have time! Last night we went to the rodeo and it was a great time. I was moving pretty slow this morning, but we had a huge egg hunt at the library this morning, so I had to push myself out the door. My parents have had Anna, Bryn and Brock at their house all week so we took all of the kids to the library. Dayton was really showing off for his MeMe - performing all of the songs and following along so well - I was pretty proud to say the least. I think he likes to try to keep up w/ the big kids. He participated in everything. They had the hunt throughout the library and my poor little group of little ones didn't do so well - kids were running around left and right and poor Anna and Brock were just worried about helping cousin Dayton so they all didn't get very much. Some people had baskets overflowing - my group each got about one egg and couple of pieces of candy. But, they were the happiest kids around - they didn't care! After the library, brave Aunt Jenna took all the kids to her house and we made Easter jello jigglers. I had bought small cookie cutters and put the jello in the fridge this morning so it'd be ready for them by the time we got out of the library. They had a great time. MeMe and Grandpa brought pizza over for everyone to eat so it was fun. Dayton fell asleep before lunch - he was super burnt out!!!

Brandon has off this afternoon and the rest of the week -yeah! Tomorrow morning, Dayton has his one year check-up and shots. We are dreading that!!! Friday we want to do something w/ Dayton - maybe the zoo or the rodeo so he could visit the petting zoo and such... We'll see how he's feeling after the shots.

That's all for now...JZ

Recovering

We are still recovering from Dayton's big day - thanks to everyone who helped make Dayton's birthday so special! He had such a wonderful time. We still had boxes scattered around the kitchen today, so I took some time to get that all straight. All of Dayton's "baby toys" got boxed up this week - so sad... We had to make room for all the new stuff! I also have two huge boxes of clothes that I pulled out of his closet. All I can say is we better have another boy one day, and those clothes better not go out of style! Shoes, bibs, socks, caps - all accessories to go w/ each outfit. I can't imagine how it would be w/ a girl if I'm this bad w/ a boy!

Dayton has been sleeping through the night in his crib, in his room for about 70% of this week - yeehaw! We are very excited about this! He has loved playing outside this week. Yesterday he even helped Mommy plant flowers in the front flowerbed. That was quite the experience! He had dirt everywhere, and he repeatedly trampled whatever it was that I had just planted. When I began watering, he tried his hardest to get as much of his little body in front of the stream - and, unfortunetly for me, he succeeded. He had water everywhere and guess what - water plus dirt equals mud - yuck! He was filthy!

I'm officially now on my "Spring Break". It's not really a break this year due to darling Dayton, but I'll take it. I've got tons to accomplish over the next week for dancing, so I'm already stressing out over that, but it'll get done eventually. It's just that nap time isn't that long and it's usually made up of cleaning, washing dishes and eating lunch - I don't get much time to work on "work".

Well, this weekend I think Brandon is going to go w/ my dad and his dad to Coushatta, so it'll just be me and baby Date. We're going to spend time w/ my mom. Saturday morning we're going to see the Easter Bunny at Evan's park - that should be a trip! I don't think Dayton will be very fond of the rabbit. We'll get a good one of him screaming his head off... Saturday afternoon we may go shopping -what else would we do w/ the boys out of town????

Have a good one! JZ

Yucky Weather!!!

This morning, my mom, me and Dayton went and picked up Mrs. Zabodyn in Edna at the shop and then made our way to Victoria, TX. We went and bought everything for this weekend's party - hot dogs it is! (Sorry Cass!) After a big trip to Sam's where we filled up the entire back of my truck, we were off to Kohl's - slightly drizzling by now. We found a few things at Kohl's then we were off to Target - slightly raining by now. When we left Target, it was pouring down rain - I had to run out to the car and pick them all up. We went to Chili's for lunch and when we left there, we were experiencing small terential downpours - yikes! I got absolutely drenched trying to get them all in the car dry. I was freezing cold and was forced to make the worst drive of my whole life. Now, it's scary to drive in bad weather. But, I must say it's extremely scary when you have your child, your mother and your mother-in-law in the car with you. I gripped the steering wheel so tight that by the time we got to the shop in Edna, my right hand had fallen asleep. I was in need of a huge nap by the time we got to town - mentally exhausted. But, I made it home just in time to unload the car, wash some bottles, change clothes and head out the door to work - fun times... Glad to say that we got most of everything we needed for this weekend, minus a small trip to Wal-Mart I need to make in the morning. I also got Dayton the most adorable yellow rain coat w/ a baseball, football, soccer ball and basketball on it - too cute! And, he got to try it out tonight. SO glad this weather is making it's way through here today and hopefully (fingers crossed) we'll have some great, cool weather on Saturday - yeah! Have a good one - JZ
