We have been eagerly awaiting a long weekend holiday weekend. I don’t have much to say today – I’m a little boring. Dayton and I are involved in a serious game of yahtzee so I’ll leave you with a sweet pic of the kiddos from last 4th of July. My babies are growing by leaps and bounds. Can’t wait to take lots and lots of pictures of these cute little firecrackers over the next few days!

Ka-Chow!!!
We have patiently been waiting for Cars 2 to come out at the movies – June 24th was the big day, so we loaded up the car yesterday evening and headed to Rosenberg to see the new show. We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse, then it was on to the theater to see Cars 2 in 3-D. The show was really good – action packed for a cartoon. We went to the late one since we left after work so I didn’t know if the kids would make it –they both stayed awake for the entire movie. Dayton was in heaven – he loved it! And, there is nothing more adorable than Miss Mallory sitting in her movie booster seat with 3-D glasses on and her candy in her lap – I missed that picture but it was so adorable! It was a great evening!
Getting ready to go:
Can you tell someone is a little excited about going to see Cars?
Of course, we dressed the part – Dayton wore is Cars Mechanic Shirt – it was pretty funny!
Mallory enjoyed throwing the peanuts on the ground at Texas Roadhouse. Dayton actually peeled and ate his. Mallory just sucked on an occasional shell – gross, I know…
Look at these cool guys in their 3D glasses. I haven’t been to a 3D movie, so it was new to me. I was expecting imax-type glasses and such, but these were way cooler. I didn’t mind having them on for two hours.
Mallory liked taking hers on and off. She wasn’t that bad. How do you expect a 19 month old (yesterday was her bday) to sit through a two hour movie? She had lots of room to move around and she enjoyed walking down the aisle and stealing all of our snacks. Sugar and sweets at 10:00 p.m. isn’t usually acceptable at our house, but we did make an exception for our special night out :)

Summer Obsessions…
Just wanted to throw out a few of my favorite things this summer :)
*Skinnygirl Margaritas – they are fabulous. And, no I am not just jumping on the bandwagon. I didn’t know who they were made by or the story behind them before I gave them a try. I saw it at the liquor store, picked up a bottle, and I am in love. I am a strict red wine drinker, so this has been heaven sent for these hot summer months. I throw some ice in an insulated cup, fill with my skinnygirl and I am so good to go – love it! Great taste! I’ve found that Spec’s has the best price on these that I can find!
*Sweet Tea Vodka – Firefly has a skinny version out :) This stuff is so delish but will get you in trouble – it’s one of those where “you don’t even taste the alcohol”. Mix it w/ some lemonade on a hot summer day – promise it won’t disappoint.

*I’m suddenly addicted to Consuela bags – they are amazingly cute and I have been patiently waiting for the The Wooden Floor (the cute store inside of Prasek’s) to get their new bags in. They finally came in last week so I picked up the small tote in gold:
I loved it so much, I went back for the big duffel size bag today, also in gold. They are just too much fun. I definently want to get some make up bags, etc. Loving my collection and thoughts of adding to it :)

*I want to thank Bryn for my next obsession – the Scramble app. I love it and if you haven’t tried it, download it now. Brandon and I love to challenge each other, and I must admit I get a “little” extra practice time in during the day, so most of the time I can kick his butt. My personal best is 65 so go ahead and try to beat that ;)

*Zumba – I’m still going to Zumba three times a week. I’m enjoying getting to go in the evening now because I don’t have dance class at night. It sure beats waking up at 4:30 a.m.

*Kenra hairspray – works wonders on any style

*Any kind of updo’s. This has been the first summer in forever that I’ve had hair long enough to just throw it up and go. I am loving rocking my little loose twists, buns, side ponies, braids, etc.
(Uh, no – not me. But that’s pretty much what I look like – yeah right!)

*So You Think You Can Dance – it’s only the second week of top 20 dancers (so if you haven’t watched yet, start watching now) and I’m so loving it. I love watching week after week. The choreographers and dancers are my heros – love it!

*Big belts – but what’s new? If you know me, you know I love me some belts.
*Off the shoulder shirts – and call me crazy, but I like Ashley’s (the Bachelorette’s) big-necked shirts. I think a girl’s shoulders/back always look so sexy come summer time when you have a little tan, and it’s the only part of my body that doesn’t have stretch marks or rolls, so why not show off a little shoulder some time? To be honest, I like the majority of her clothes. Her hair though – that’s another story…
That’s all I’ve got to bore you with for now! :)
The “Yeep”
Here is the Jeep before and after Brandon’s make over. He is having too much fun w/ this thing!
Before:
After (New wheels and tires, color matched front and back center bumper, lift, covered tail lights):
And, our favorite way to ride (although, I must warn you of the following when riding down the highway for extended periods of time like this – lots of sweat, lots of sun and always wear a baseball cap):

Ooey, Gooey S’mores!
We promised the kiddos S’mores at the bay on Saturday night, but Dayton fell asleep before we had a chance to follow through on our promise. SO – what’s a mom to do than have a pajama - s’mores party in the middle of our living room last night?!?! Even though they weren’t roasted on an open flame, they were SO yummy out of the good ole microwave. Dayton was shocked that I’d let them make a chocolaty mess in the middle of the living room, but it was just too fun. What great memories! Not to mention, a fabulous way to top off our Father’s Day with Daddy!
A little bit of this…
And a little bit of that. Here are my pics from over the last week. Trying to get caught up so I can stay on track now ;) (These are from most recent to oldest, sorry!)
Here we are at the pool at the Cape yesterday. I never actually got in but I hear it was freezing ;)
This was on the way down to the bay on Saturday. We took the Jeep (or the “Yeep” which has become it’s nickname) with no top on. The wind and sun were pretty harsh, but for some reason, it put our kiddos to sleep on the way there and the way home :)
We took the old golf cart down there on Saturday, so we had the trailer and cart behind us. It was quite the ride – not to mention we got hit in the windshield by a rock from a passing truck so Brandon got a nice rock chip right in the middle of his new windshield :(
Cooling off at the bay – it was HOT!
Daddy enjoyed hitting balls into the water:
On Saturday evening, we had the greatest food ever – seafood gumbo, crawfish, crab, potatoes, corn, cauliflower, and mushrooms. Mallory had two bowls of gumbo and a handful on crawfish. She is our little Cajun girl for sure!
These were taken on Friday:
We had a special visitor on Friday – Mr. Easton stopped by. The kids were so happy to see him. This isn’t the greatest picture, but it was hard to get one of all three!
Friday night, Mommy and Daddy had the greatest time getting to see Pat Green and Honeybrowne perform. I love me some Texas country, so it was a great night out. This picture isn’t the best, but you don’t get the most flattering pictures when your photographer is four feet tall…
Bryn and Brock spent the night with us last week. I didn’t manage to get any pics of all the kiddos – these are the only ones I got. Dayton and Mallory had so much fun!
