Good News!

Yeah! We've got internet. Now all we need is phone services adn we'll be golden - hahaha! Glad to be back in the virtual loop. I've got pictures from the weekend at the bay and such to post if I have time tomorrow. The internet guy just left at 10:45 p.m. - kinda weird. Of course you all know I've got dance recital on the brain this week. Starting to freak out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a lot done today - most of the backdrop, final invoices, over 100 recital shirts labeled and then went and taught for 4 hrs. Hang in there baby Z, 6 more days of this craziness and we can chill! ;) We've got 47 numbers in the dance recital this year, two of which I have to do on stage, so it should be interesting! If anyone is around and has nothing better to do, the recital is at 7:00 on Saturday night. I'd love to have you there!!! More posts to come soon!

Small Update...

I was just happy to say that on a scale from 1 to 10 I'm about an 8 today. Woke up feeling better than I have in quite a while. Yesterday we worked on recital stuff from around 1 - 7 so I think getting that done helped ease my nervous/pregnant stomach a lot. I've got recital on the brain right now - trying to get everything ready and going crazy. Hey, less than two weeks now and counting - yippee - it's the home stretch!

Lucy, the Great Escape Artist...

Okay, this dog is going to drive me up the walls!!! Last night we went to Brandon's parents for swimming and hot dogs. Lucy somehow found a way to sneak out of the backyard at their place and we didn't notice it until we were eating outside and I knew something was wrong if she wasn't around for that. We looked for about 45 minutes and Samantha finally found her a few houses down - oh my goodness - this dog! I think she's trying to find her way "home" to the old house. She also found a very flea infested friend while she was out the other night b/c her body was covered in fleas by last night - probably over 100 fleas on her! Mrs. Zabodyn was nice enough to give her a bath w/ flea shampoo over there last night so I wouldn't have to get any chemicals on my hands. So, Lucy is determined to leave us. Maybe she thinks she getting the boot cause there's gonna be a new kid around. Or, maybe Dayton was all she could stand to begin w/ and she wants to get out there before another miniature tormentor comes along!!!

No big plans today - yeah for Friday! We're gonna go watch Bryn's game this evening out at the ballpark. I haven't gotten to see much of her this year b/c of dancing so I'm excited to finally get to see her bat. Rumor has it she's quite the slugger - of course she is, she's a Rod :)

I'm feeling pretty good today, for a change. I even ate cereal this morning and was able to keep it down. I went from eating cereal every morning before I was pregnant to not being able to stomach it at all the last few weeks. Date and I are in the middle of our new morning routine of errands and then we're headed to Wal-Mart and back home. Planning on going shopping in the morning to Sugar land - BZ's in a golf tourney, so what else would I do??? We've got to get on moving everything out of that old house and we've got to start working on recital backdrop stuff if we want to have any sort of relaxing Memorial Day weekend...

Have a good one...

Well, here are some pictures. Sorry they're in the form of a slideshow, but there were too many to post individually - enjoy. I do realize that I have no pics of the new house since we've moved in - hahaha! I'll work on that - enjoy!!!

The news is out so...

Here's my journaling from the last 10 weeks. I've been keeping this saved in a journal b/c Lord knows I wouldn't be able to recapture all of this w/ one day's worth of blogging - sorry so long - enjoy the ride, and so it begins...

March 26th –
I went for my yearly today; turned out to be soooo much more. We’ve been trying for only two months now. I figured it’d be a couple more months before it was our time. I’ve been moody, bloated and starving for anything sweet – pms, right? Nope, not this time. I should’ve known – I should’ve known when I tore Brandon’s head off yesterday, and the day before, and the day before. I should’ve known when I ate all the cake, cookies, ice cream, gum etc. in the house. When I was preggers w/ Date, my very first craving was cookies – strange, I know. It’s happened again. I should’ve know when I’ve woke up the last few mornings w/ one hand asleep. These were all signs the first time around, but this time I just couldn’t believe it. So, last night I decided I needed to know, before I went to the highly qualified doctor, if I was pregnant. I pulled out my Equate pregnancy test (so much more reliable than the dr I was going to see in a short 15 hrs, but I had to know then). I took the test as Dayton sat on the bed distracted by cartoons. At first glance, negative. I thought, hmmm, oh well. Then after waiting the correct amount of time, I looked again – a very faint plus sign – was it enough to be “positive”. I talked to Brandon about it, even took a picture of it in case it changed before he got home. I didn’t sleep at all last night. Woke up this morning more ready to go see my ob/gyn than I ever have been. They took my urine sample to the lab for a pregnancy test and continued on w/ my physical. I couldn’t concentrate on anything else the whole time I was there. He started talking to me as if he already knew I was pregnant, but did say that there was a chance I was too early and we may not be able to tell. “How many after this one?” “VBAC or C-section?” I’m thinking –whoa, slow down. I don’t even know if I’m pregnant yet. I waited very impatiently when he left the room. It seemed like forever until he came back in with a smile on his face and announced, “It’s positive.” YEAH!!!! I filled out all my ob info, made an appointment for my first sonogram (OMG!) and was on my merry way. I tried to text Brandon as soon as I got out of there (he was in a meeting), and of course, my cell phone had no service – no service? Not a time like this – Daddy needs to know he’s got another baby on the way. Finally the phone was working and Daddy was happy, to say the least. Our due date is December 5th – could be a Thanksgiving baby or a 5 year anniversary gift for me and Daddy. I’m truly ecstatic – beaming inside. So ready to partake on this journey once again. I came home and the first thing I did was eat left over lasagna and have an ice cream. Weight Watchers is out the window for the next nine months, but not so much as to get too big for Trace’s wedding – I’ll be ready for that for sure!

March 31, 2009 – Well, I’ve survived the last few days w/ no big hiccups. I made it through Brandon’s aunt’s wedding w/o anyone questioning why I wasn’t drinking. I danced drunk (not hard for me) and carried around an empty beer can inside a koozie  Whatever works! It also helped that it was in Hungerford and one of us would have to drive our son home, so that ended up being me – the DD. On Sunday we had to go house shopping yet again and it wore me out completely! I started to feel nauseous before we ate lunch – those darn prenatal vitamins!!! Things have been good but every day I tell myself “I should’ve known”. I had all the symptoms; I just wasn’t looking for them. I have the hugest heightened sense of smell. I smell everything the minute the aroma comes into the room – smoke, food, anything. Brandon tells me I need to be more careful b/c I tend to make a big deal of it. As soon as I smell it, I’m like “OMG – do you smell that? That smells soooo ______ (fill in the blank w/ whatever the smell may be – horrible, sweet, fishy, etc.) Another problem that’s already returning from my first pregnancy that I would love to do w/o is my carpal tunnel – my hands fall asleep every night. I’ve even had to bust out the braces already. My mind goes crazy at night. I’m not getting much sleep. Trying to start training myself to sleep on my back again and thoughts going through my head at 100 mph. Not much else going on right now. We’ve tried to semi-explain to Dayton that Mommy won’t be able to lift him and carry him as much and he can’t bounce on Mommy’s tummy anymore b/c there’s a baby inside – totally over his little head! He points to my boob and says “Baby.” Oh, Dayton, we’ve got a lot to learn over the next nine months. I know once I have a baby bump (which I’m in no hurry to get), he’ll understand more fully. I’m trying to wear all my “skinny” clothes now while I can still wear them. So much for looking good during bikini season this summer!!!

March 31st – 2:45 p.m. – first weird craving other than lots of sweets: marshmallows and pretzels – together – strange, I know. But, I never knew that it would taste so good together. And so it begins…

April 1st – Today I’m emotional – go figure – and so it begins. Let the hormones roll... I’m also HOT – sweaty feet and hands. Back is hurting but that may not be from being pregnant, that just may be what happens when you have no furniture in your living room and you’re forced to sit on folding chairs all day. We didn’t think this whole “selling the furniture now” thing out very clearly… Another note on my sense of smell – even my bowl of cereal smelt strong this morning – I never knew that was possible…

April 1st – 10:10 p.m. – I keep forgetting to mention my complexion – excuse me, are you fourteen again??? I’m breaking out like crazy around my neckline and on my forehead. Another reason “I should’ve known.”

April 2nd – more cravings??? Still sweets, but here’s a strange one – cold Poptarts, hmmm??? And Starburst…

April 9th – Well, I survived last weekend in Austin. It was a blast but it completely wore me out. Being away from home and our families, it was nice to talk openly about being pregnant at the dinner table and such. It was nice to be around strangers where I could boast about having a baby! On Sunday morning, I almost blew my cover. We met up w/ my family at Threadgills and on the way to the restaurant, I took my vitamin and Tums. I figured waiting 15 minutes before I ate wouldn’t kill me. I didn’t want them to see my meds. By the time we got inside Threadgills and sat down at the table, it began to hit me. So many people, the smell of breakfast – yikes – sweating and whispering to Brandon that I’m fixing to hurl right there at the table. I announce that I’ve got to the bathroom and conveniently, Bryn wants to go w/ me. Oh great, she doesn’t need to hear Aunt Jenna upchucking in the next stall. Once I got to the bathroom and sat down and took a few deep breaths, I felt a little relieved and was able to keep my stomach intact. Whewww…. Won’t take those vitamins on an empty stomach anymore. Yesterday I had my first true episode of “morning sickness”, but it came yesterday afternoon. Brandon and I had to take care of some house stuff at the house – sorting out lights and light bulbs and such, and I was feeling crappy the whole time. I totally asked for it. It’s one of those things that you don’t want to feel, but it was starting to make me nervous that I hadn’t felt any sickness just yet. Then, it happened, and I was like “Please go away!” I remembered that familiar feeling all too well! BBQ chicken and sausage last night made me very happy and ready for a good night’s sleep. Too bad that’s hard to come by these days…

April 13th – Well, the weekend was great. It was so good to finally get our big secret off our chests! On Saturday, we were able to tell my parents, Brandon’s parents and Brandon’s brother and sister. We gave our parents an early Easter gift – a Shutterfly book from Dayton. It was a recap of his 2nd year w/ rhymes on each page. The last page was Christmas pics from last year and it read something like, “Here’s some Christmas pics from 2008, b/c before Christmas this year, he’ll be “Big Brother Date.” We’re expecting #2!” They were all very excited to say the least. On Sunday we were able to tell both of my brothers and they were equally happy. Coby offered me a glass a wine and I was like, “No, thanks. I’m pregnant.” It was priceless – I’ve always wanted to do that to someone! Saturday marked the beginning of my 6th week – hence, I knew morning sickness was in my near future. Yesterday was so enjoyable but so exhausting. I literally was ready to take a nap on the way to my parents for lunch at it was only noon! The rest of the day drug on. By 8:30, I was out! That was probably a good thing because by 1:30 this morning I was up w/ my first real dose of morning sickness. Me and the toilet had our first pregnancy date  It continued this morning. I’m not feeling really great, but lying around all morning isn’t really a choice when you have a rambunctious two year old running around! I was able to keep down some oatmeal, surprisingly, so we’ll see how I’m gonna do! Atleast now, I can call my mom and complain and wine to her and not have to keep it to myself and Brandon! That’s all for today. I ate horrible over the weekend, so I’m gonna have to be extra good this week. I keep reminding myself what will happen if I continue to eat like that – I’ll turn into the blimp of a woman I was when I had Dayton 

April 20th – Well, feeling about a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. I rated my morning sickness when I was preggers w/ Date, so I’m gonna try to start doing the same w/ this little bambino! Yesterday we had a great trip to the Astros game. We made the most of it considering I had some mishaps. I sat in the very backseat on the way there, trying to be a good hostess to our parents, and I suffered the consequences. Queasiness and car sickness don’t mix well together, so I enjoyed upchucking in the bathrooms at Minute Maid Park. Once I got over that, I was ready for some nachos supreme w/ jalapenos and chili and cheese (what else?). I tried to head gracefully to our seats w/ Date’s little hand in one hand and my balancing bowl of nachos in the other. I made it down about four steps before Date wobbled, I flinched and the nachos ended up against Samantha’s personalized (aka EXPENSIVE) white, Astros jersey. This was before the game even started. I had chili stains everywhere on the shirt. Went to the bathroom (again, but for a different reason) and tried to scrub it clean, but it wasn’t happening. Took a deep breathe, went over to the store w/ Date’s backpack in front of my shirt shielding the sloppy mess, bought myself a jersey (should’ve done that in the first place), went back to the bathroom and put it on. My mom scrubbed Sam’s jersey clean when we got home – whewww! Marie is good w/ those stains! After all of that, we had a wonderful time – Date absolutely enjoyed the game and I felt better as it went on – especially after Dat requested ice cream and agreed to share w/ Mommy. Felt sick again this morning – achy and flu-like. It’s amazing how you forget these feelings until you start to have them again. While I don’t like feeling lousy the week that we’re moving, it’s reassuring to know my body is working and as nurse Traci would say “Morning Sickness = Healthy Baby”.

May 5th – Happy Cinco De Mayo! Well, it’s been a while since I’ve written, but definently not because there hasn’t been anything going on. We’ve been in the new house for a week and last week was probably my hardest week thus far. Morning sickness has become part of my daily routine – usually not to the point of vomiting, just feel totally crappy all day. I wake up gagging and it never really gets better from there. Don’t know if I’ve already said this, but I never remember feeling soooo exhausted when I was pregnant with Dayton. I am tired all the time. That’s been hard considering how physically and emotionally draining moving has been. I try my best to take care of myself. Any new cravings? Still into cold whole grain chocolate pop tarts – that one is so random. Mexican food, of course. OJ and Vitamin Water. And, tacos – any kind of tacos – fancy restaurant tacos or Sonic tacos, doesn’t really matter! I told myself before I was pregnant I was going to eat better this time around, but now I realize how this all works, when you feel completely crappy, you eat whatever sounds good at the time and most of the time that doesn’t include lettuce leaves or salad. I’m trying to do my best but I have to eat whatever my body is willing to tolerate at the time and usually that’s not healthy – oh well! My boobs are growing by the day and literally hurt when I dance or run. My pooch is there, that’s for sure. I went from wearing cute fitted tanks and dance pants to work, to wearing loose, long t-shirts over my pants. I feel like such a slob! It’s hard for me to find stuff to wear right now – everything still fits but it just doesn’t look the same and until people know why the belly is there, I’m not cool w/ showing it off! Had fun on Saturday wedding dress shopping w/ Traci. It was a great time and we did a fabulous job finding the perfect dress! I got asked to try on bridesmaid dresses so I was a little unsure about putting my 9 week pregnant body into dresses, but I just sucked in w/ all my might and thank goodness they were mostly black and aline! Only one more week til I go to my first sonogram and get to start spreading the news. I’m just ready for this stressful time to be over with. I can’t wait to go to my appt next week. It’s so hard growing a baby inside of you for 10 weeks not really knowing what’s going on or if everything is okay. That’s all for now – it’s time for breakfast and I only have about a 30 min. time frame from the minute I get out of bed to the minute I put food in my mouth before it all goes downhill…

May 12th – Well, tomorrow is finally the big day – our first sonogram. I’m so excited/nervous to see what’s going on in there. Hopefully, God willing, we can start spreading the good news tomorrow. I’m excited to finally have a good excuse of why I’ve been packing on these lbs lately. Haven’t been feeling too good the last few days. Wake up feeling really lousy and as soon as I’m out of bed, I’m headed to the toilet w/ a really bad gagging reflex. Lovely, I know. My face is broken out and I still have no energy. Yesterday and today I’ve gone through bad spells around 10 in the morning of feeling completely yucky – nauseous and sweaty and just plain bad. I’m ready to start feeling good – almost 11 weeks already. There is an end in sight to this bad sickly time. I’m very thankful because I know it could be a lot worse. It’s just hard with Dayton at home and trying to explain why Mommy can’t do this or that or just doesn’t feel like it. Or why the sight of his spaghetti o’s wants to make me vomit. Bad food aversions lately, not too bad w/ cravings, but lots that I want to avoid – strange! Hopefully, after tomorrow, this will all be hitting the blog!

Just another day...

in the life of the Zabodyn family. Oh, and by the way, I'm pregnant :) Almost 11 wks - due Dec 5th. First sonogram today - all is well so far. I promise to post a picture soon, yet again....

Still Waiting for Internet...

Well, we are still suffering w/ no internet services at the new place, but good news is my parents recently got a wireless router so I can hook my laptop up at their house :) I still don't have pics posted to the computer b/c anytime I'm over at their place I'm working on recital stuff - I've got t-shirt orders, tights and end of year stuff to deal w/ right now so that is taking up most of my time! Dayton got the cutest little haircut on Friday so I can't wait to get a pic posted of it on here. He looks so cute :) and he didn't even cry a one time- it was a miracle! Mother's Day weekend was good. On Saturday we went out to the fair for a while then I went to a mini graduation party for Samantha at L-Nails. On Sunday we went to church, ate at my parents and had both our families over in the evening for fajitas - yummy! Brandon and Dayton got me two pandora charms and tickets to Phantom in Houston coming in July w/ a night's stay in Houston and dinner out on the town -can't wait! It was all a big surprise which was great - Brandon has never been one who's good at surprises. Not much exciting going on right now - just lots of work between trying to get everything out of the old house and recital stuff. I promise to get some more pics up soon - I know they're a lot more exciting than these boring post :)

life so Internet is not nice

well it's been over a week so Internet and I'm having withdrawals so I'm posting from bz's iPhone. Very quick update: house- great. Living here and very happy. Date is doing great and loves his new room. Old house- signed contract on it last week and should close by month's end. Yeah! Date- enjoying life and his terrible twos. Getting more like a two year old every day. Newest trick - can sing the tx fight song and the eyes of tx. Gotta get it on video! BZ and I are staying sane during this crazy busy month. Took date to the fair yesterday morning and had dance pics yesterday afternoon. Ba's grandpa Vasut had a pacemaker put in on tues but he's doing ok. Should come home tomorrow. That's all I've got for now. Sorry!
