Visits with some special wee ones!

Mallory and I had the honor of meeting Miss Ellie not long after the princess made her debut.  She’s adorable and the trip was way too short, but we loved every minute of it.  And, Mallory and Easton got some quality play time in so that made it all the more worth it.  What a doll!

We also had the honor and felt so incredibly blessed to be Mr. Charlie’s godparents.  It is such a privilege and Brandon and I couldn’t have been more excited.  I’m in love with this little dude – most chill guy ever!  What a fabulous time it was!

And what a fun time it was a few weeks ago to get all of these kiddos together for a playdate.  I thought my house was indestructible but they almost proved me wrong – ha!  They had an amazing time playing together.  I look forward to so many of these same kind of dates in the future!!!

And we enjoyed an afternoon of honoring a wee one that hadn’t joined us just quite yet – Mr. Brody – he’s since made his debut and he’s oh-so-cute!  I failed to get many pics – too much wine and visiting I guess :)

Tea with the Princesses…

So the El Campo Museum had a little Saturday outing a while back – tea with princesses.  Amy and Codi asked us to join them so we threw on our closest resemblance to a princess dress (her Snow White nightgown) and we were on our way!  The girls had a great time and Mallory declared that “The princesses weren’t scary, Mommy.”  Well no joke kid – why would princesses be scary?  If she’s worried about being scared of high school girls dressed in prom dresses, I’m not sure how Disney World is gonna go down with Mally.  Oh goodness…

Ready to go!

Photo Shoot by Bryn…

IMG_3431Bryn was over the day I got my new Nikon in.  She was the first to try it out – on Mallory.  Mallory is a tough subject to photograph.  Here are some of her shots – too fun!

Dayton is SIX…

Well, he’s been six since March 9th, but I’m just getting around to this darn post – sorry!  He’s a great six year old at that!  Always curious, always happy, a little mischievous and never at a loss for words or giggles.  He takes care of his sister (most of the time) and is becoming a great help to Mommy.  He loves sports – basketball, baseball, golf, football – he loves it all.  His other hobby is drawing – he’s quite the artist.  He’s turning into a great reader.  I’m floored that I have a kid old enough to actually read – like a book – that’s crazy to me for some reason.  Seeing him read to Mallory melts my heart – that is until they get to about page four and Mallory decides that he reads a little too slow for her liking – ha!  He would live in under armour everything if you’d let him and he despises the color pink and absolutely hates when I make him wear it.  His favorite food is a good ole’ hamburger.  He’s also a fan of spaghetti and corn dogs and sandwiches.  He eats veggies pretty well as long as we have all condiments on hand – ketchup and ranch.  His favorite candy/chocolate is anything Reese’s peanut butter cup related.  And, his favorite dessert is ice cream.  He can ride a bike really well, but his favorite modes of transportation around the neighborhood are his dirt bike and go kart.  I think that covers most of who he is – he’s extremely kind-hearted and his eyes literally reveal his soul – I love to look at his eyes, when he’s sad, it shows.  When he’s happy and excited, they sparkle.  When he’s weary or tired, they show it.  His eyes are his window to his emotions.  He means the absolute world to me and I couldn’t be prouder to be his mom.  I’m amazed by this life that his dad and me are responsible for.  I’m in awe of his love for us and his faith in Christ – an immature, innocent love for Jesus that I sometimes pray to share with him.  A love without question.  What a young man he is.

Okay, okay, sorry my fingers just kept typing.  Onto the big birthday bash!  His birthday actually fell on a weekend this year so that worked out nicely.  When asked what he wanted to do for his bday, he said he wanted to take some friends to the bay.  Brandon and I thought that sounded easy enough – don’t have to worry about going all out at our house, we get to hang out at the bay, too, can’t be that hard – just nice, easy and laid back.  Yeah right, you all know me and my over-the-top birthday party mentality.  It took two weeks of hauling birthday decor and food down there to get everything fixed up to Mommy’s expectations.  But, in the end, we had ourselves a fun-filled, fully decorated, bay party.  Birthday boy’s food of choice – a nacho/fajita bar.  Another idea that sounded so easy at the time, until you start adding up all the toppings that can go on nachos and fajitas.  We had quite the smorgasbord!  And looking back now, I didn’t get near enough pictures.  Between supervising the crew of boys and serving food upstairs and downstairs, I never really had time to sit and enjoy! Ha!

We also celebrated PaPa Zabodyn’s birthday.  His is on the 12th of March.  My mom made him a yummy homemade banana cake so we sang to him too!

So we failed to get any pics of our family or Dayton with his DeDe, PaPa, Meme and Grandpa.  Shame on me – maybe DeDe has a few more pics that I can steal!

His birthday was right before Spring Break, so we ended up staying at the bay for most of that week – it was fabulous!  Here’s the kiddos the next day taking a nap – I’d say they had a great weekend!

And here was Dayton’s big birthday gift.  It’s sure to get lots of use this summer – has a little bounce house in the middle with two waterslides and pool.  What more could a kid ask for :)
