Mallory's First Dance Lesson...

Being that I am a dance teacher, Mallory is under a lot of pressure to be somewhat "gifted" at dancing. So, the other day, we dressed in our dance attire and had our first lesson... Here's how it went down:

Mallory listened very closely as I explained Mommy's passion for dancing and my hopes that someday she would feel the same way about it, too!

Then, I told her the news: "Mallory, today I will give you your very first dance lesson. We're going to cover some very basic movement." She immediately jumped for joy...

First we mastered a simple plie. If this isn't the most adorable plie you've ever seen, I don't know what is!!!

Next, we learned to perform a releve - legs straight Mally! Toes pointed! Tighten up those butt cheeks! Great job!

That was enough work for one day, so it was time to rest and attempt sitting up for the first time in her pod. We talked more about dancing and about the importance of eventually doing her combinations in a vertical position rather than horizontal. That would do for now, but within the year, Mommy wants to see her upright and performing the same movements - she said she couldn't wait and we called it a day!!!!

Catching up...

Here are more pictures. Not much time to post lately. Mallory sleeps in the morning and Dayton sleeps in the afternoons so not much time to myself - they are tag teaming me! It works out nicely though because they each get their own "Mommy" time and it's really a lot of fun!

More smiles:

Dayton and Mallory hang out on Date's bed.

Date reads Mallory a book:

So funny!

Our first walk in the "neighborhood" - hahaha!

I caught her dreaming - we get this a lot!

On Saturday, we went to Austin's 3rd birthday party. The theme was "firetrucks" so Nina had the fire dept bring a truck out for the kids to see. Dayton LOVED the truck and he loved "Fireman Bubba". Here he is watching the truck pull in the driveway:

A cute one of our future firefighter:

Turning on the sirens:

Mallory's new paci holder - pretty hilarious!

Please take note of one of the latest entries entitle "Isn't it Ironic? Don't Ya Think?" - The "Peter" cake had me crying I was laughing so hard - let me know if anyone else finds it as funny as me or maybe it was the glass of wine I was drinking at the time?????

Some of Life's Greatest Moments...

Are those UNSCRIPTED!!! Saturday was just that - unscripted. We had no plans. We woke up, I leaned over to Brsandon and said "Let's go to Chucky Cheeses!" Crazy, I know, but Brandon quickly agreed. Dayton has always wanted to go but we never had the time to so why not?!? I went and got a much needed pedi w/ my mom and we packed up half the house (forgot what its like to travel with an infant) and we were off. My mom had reminded me that the boat show was going on and I thought Date might enjoy that too and so would Daddy. So, we decided to play it by ear and see how things were going after Chucky Cheese's before we committed to that, too. It turned out to be a great day - we ended it at Charlie and Traci's and had the most wonderful time visiting w/ everyone. They fed Dayton sugar and he loved it. They all gave him their full attention which he loved - I don't know what his favorite part of the day was - Chucky Cheese's, the boat show or Traci's house - ha! We all had such a great day and Mallory was just a little angel. She's been having a tummy ache lately, but I think it's getting better. I just hate seeing her sad :(

Enjoy the pictures:

Yea for Chucky Cheese's - he was so excited, he barely could eat his lunch. Him and Daddy had so much fun playing all the games - we left w/ a piece of Laffy Taffy, a baseball bracelet and a Chucky Cheese football that we had to pay for b/c we didn't have enough tickets - oh well...

This is what Mallory did the entire time we were there - even w/ all the screaming kids!

I couldn't get many pios of them playing games b/c I was hanging out w/ Mallory, but I just stalked them from afar as best I could:

Excited to be at the boat show:

Trying to catch a fish:

What a cute little family!

Neil, fatherhood suites you well - hahaha!

Another happy family - Girls, you better watch out. There seems to be something in the water lately, this could really be yours in 10 months ;) :

Mommy enjoyed some much needed wine and catching up w/ the girls :)

Traci and the kiddos:

Partners in crime:

Alicia and Dayton take pics of each other:

Dayton was in heaven (and so was Brandon). They pulled out this insanely cool racing game. Now Brandon wants this whole set up - wish we would've came across this before we bought his actual car - would've saved us a lot of money - hahaha!

Pictures of the Kiddos!!!

I know there are more pics of Mallory than Date, but it is by Date's choice. He's not that into pictures these days and Mallory has no choice ;)
