He...

He always wakes up at 7:55 when he has to be at work at 8:00. He always snores when I'm most tired. He always tells me to calm down when Dayton runs a fever. He always gives Dayton a bath and puts him to bed at night. He always brings us lunch from McDonald's when we have a bad morning. He always irons his own clothes when he needs something ironed. He always puts his t-shirts in the dryer before he puts them on. He always sits with me on the couch at night while I watch all of my corny reality shows. He always spends a lot of time on the computer at night reading about his Charger. He always takes the longest route from point a to point b. He always asks me to go play golf with him even though I repeatedly turn him down. He always dresses Dayton in his Crocs - no matter what the outfit is. He always mows the yard. He always calls and checks on us. He always kisses me good night. He always kisses Dayton good night. He always tells us how much he loves us. He always text messages me with the most random messages. He always acts so happy to see us when we surprise him at work. He always provides for his family. He always lets me follow my dreams. He always lets me buy new shoes. He always lets Dayton have whatever he wants. He always knows how to make us happy.

I wish he was here...

Bye, Bye Daddy! :(

Well, it's been a rough start to a rough week. Brandon left yesterday morning and it already feels like he's been gone forever. Dayton and I are staying as busy as possible, but it still feels like the days are dragging on forever and June 6th can't come soon enough!!! Before Brandon left, we managed to squeeze in some good quality time at the golf course and the zoo.

Here's a pic from the golf course the other day. Dayton loves climbing all over the golf cart.

Another pic of Dayton at the course - he's got Grandpa's golf balls ready for him!

Here are Brandon and Dayton at the zoo on Saturday. This was right when we got there, before it got HOT!!!

Dayton was very afraid of the giraffes - I guess they were too large for him. He did not want to come close to them at all. We bought him a giraffe backpack at the gift shop so he could come to grips w/ his fears...

This was probably Dayton's favorite place in the whole zoo - the reflection pond. He loves water and he loved watching the fish swimming around. It was a cool, shaded place to rest.

Dayton loved the monkeys. We wasn't scared of them at all. We always call him our Little Monkey, so I guess he figured he fit right in - and I must say, he was well dressed for the monkey portion of the trip ;)

Another Monkey Pic...

Here's a cute one of Brandon and Dayton in front of some bamboo we found. Wish Baby Date was looking at the camera!!!

Brandon was pretending to throw Dayton into the duck pond. Dayton thought this was really funny and wouldn't stop "quacking" up. (sorry, couldn't resist.)

It got really hot out there, so with a little encouragement from Mommy, Daddy let Date take off his shoes and shirt and run in the water play area of the zoo. Dayton loved it. It was a great way to cool off.

Here we are after playing in the water. Dayton was soaked and I wasn't too far behind him!

Don't worry - that's not sweat - just a wet head from all the water. Trying to keep cool after that - notice the cool spray fan attached to his stroller. This helped tremendously!!!

On Sunday morning, we went over to the playground at Myatt with Amy, Bryn and Brock. Here's a few pics.

Not so lucky the 2nd time around...

Okay, Dayton attempted to crawl off the bed by himself this morning again, and did not make it to the ground on his feet. Brandon and I were both sleeping and Dayton was in the middle. Rather than crawling over us and taking the chance of waking us up, he decided to be Mr. Independent and shimmy off the foot of the bed. We were awoken by a thunk and Dayton screaming. Didn't really hurt himself - he was just a little shooken up.

We played golf this morning - Brandon had off since he leaves on Monday. My dad joined in and I must say, the four of us had a really good time. Then we went and ate w/ DeDe at Firehouse Grill. Brandon and I came home and did yardwork while Dayton stayed with DeDe for a while.

Tonight we're going to Chris and Heidi's wedding reception, then to Greek's to see Cross Canadian Ragweed. I'm really excited! The Zabodyns are keeping Dayton so we'll be home alone tonight - yeehaw! We can sleep past 6:00 a.m.

Going to take Dayton to the Houston Zoo tomorrow. Just trying to enjoy some time w/ Daddy before dreaded MONDAY rolls around...

Have a great weekend!

Wake Up!!!

Last night, I slept on the couch due to the spray tan issues. Brandon slept in our bed and Dayton slept in his bed till around 4 then he went and slept with Brandon. He's been waking up pretty early the last few days and today was no exception. Brandon was awoken by a whack to the head w/ a plastic golf club. Dayton had climbed off the bed by himself w/o waking up Brandon, found a golf club and decided to wake up Daddy. It was hilarious. Brandon comes walking into the living room still half way asleep, rubbing his poor head. I swear, this kid!!! :)

Dayton's New Tricks

Well Dayton has some very interesting new tricks. He's getting really independent and adventerous these days so we never know what he's going to do around the house. He has found the drawer by our dishwasher that holds all of his clean sippy cups, spoons, forks, bowls, etc. He enjoys standing on his tippy toes and digging through it, dumping everything on the floor. Last night while we were eating in the living room, he'd go to the kitchen, grab himself a new plastic fork or spoon, run back into the living room, take one bite to eat off of my plate, put the utensil down, then run back into the kitchen grab another and repeat the whole process. We went through five spoons this way - a new one for every bite he took - great trick, huh? Then, after dinner, I went to clean the kitchen, opened the trash lid and found Dayton's cellphone, a sippy cup lid, and a bowl. He's discovered the trash can and thinks everything belongs in it now. We've got to keep an eye on him at all times.

This morning we went to Prasek's w/ Grandpa, Brock and Anna. The kids had a great breakfast, and the weather was beautiful, so me and my Dad took them to Friendship Park. Dayton had so much fun the other day, I figured they'd really like it. It was super hot outside, so after 30 minutes of playing, they were ready to go. My Dad was super nice and said that since he had two kids, he might as well have three, so he kept all three while I went and got a pedi and a mani - wow! It was great! Now, Dayton's down for a nap, but when he wakes up, Brock and Anna are supposed to come over and play in the water outside. Gotta take advantage of this beautiful weather!

Tonight, I'm getting spray tanned again - for those of you who don't know, I think I'm gonna be addicted to it from now on. It's the greatest thing ever! It's much easier to fit into my schedule than going to tan every day and it's safer. It lasts about a week and a half and Beverly, the lady at Shabby Chic, does a great job! I totally recommend it. The worst part is making it through the first night - no showers until the morning and the stuff feels disgusting, but like I said, well worth it!

The Park, The Weekend, Etc...

Here are a few pics of our first trip to the park. Sunday morning we were bored and the weather was beautiful, so we decided to adventure on over to good ole' friendship park. Dayton had a great time. He's still a little small for most of the stuff, but he still was in awe of everything. I even did some swinging and went down the big slide - it was quite a sight to see...

Dayton loves him some swinging!

Dayton slides down the school bus slide - by far his favorite!

Dayton climbing - notice the big white slide in the back - that's the one I conquered!!!!

Here he is again doing some more swinging - these are the best swings ever!!!

Here are some random pics of Dayton - I finally figured out how to post more than 5 pics to one blog - getting good at this stuff ;)

Dayton after some Oreo cookies - talk about a messy snack!

We went and ate at Duson Diner last week and I conveniently had my camera in the car so we walked across the street to the park after dinner and took some random pics - I thought this was a cute one!

Here is our big boy drinking him some juice out of a juice box. This "Dwink" thing is the greatest invention ever. It holds any size juice box so that he can't squirt it all over the carpet and Mommy.

Here is a picture of Lucy's toenails. She got them painted on Friday. When I picked her up, I couldn't stop laughing. It's the funniest thing!

Here's a cute pic of Luke and Will from Sunday at my parents. They are both sitting up now unassisted. They are the cutest thing in the whole world! When they were sitting there playing w/ the exact same toy in the exact same outfit, it looked like one them was looking into the mirror. Don't get me wrong, they do have different features, but at first site - they look very much alike - big blue eyes, big bald heads, always dressed the same - so fun!!!

Here is what I found when I opened the toilet lid to go the restroom over the weekend. Dayton had slam dunked his basketball into our toilet - disgusting, but very funny at the time!!!

I thought this was a cute picture of Dayton from yesterday. He doesn't wear his realy tennis shoes very often so I think it's always cute when he has them on - his chubby legs stick out the top and he has no ankles...

All is going good. Dayton had to go the doctor on Friday b/c we've been fighting a fever/cold/slight ear infection for a while now. He got put on his first antibiotic - amoxicilan (sp?). It contains pennicilan (sp?) and Brandon and his mom are both allergic to it. When I asked the pharmacist at Wal-Mart how I'd know if he was having an allergic reaction to it, she said, "His throat will swell up immediately and you'll need to get him to the emergency room as soon as possible." That was very reassuring - sure, let me take my child home and give him this medicine and sit and stare at him until his throat begins to close. Luckily, his throat didn't close up, but he broke out into a minor rash yesterday which I'm assuming is a reaction to the pennicilan - Nurse Traci - if you read this, tell me your thoughts. I didn't call the doctor today b/c the rash is fading and hasn't gotten any worse. I just stopped giving him the medicine. He's cleared up and doesn's seem to be bothered by any sickness anymore. Anyways, that's what we've been up to. This week is my last week of dancing - Jackie Rodriquez is guest teaching my classes for me so the girls (and me) are enjoying that. Brandon leaves for Dallas on Monday for two weeks - sniffle, sniffle. It's gonna be rough, but I don't want to think about it...

A Round of Golf...

And believe or not - no Daddies allowed (besides my own!). Dayton, me and my dad went and played a round of golf this morning. It was a great experience. Any time I get to play golf with my dad is time well spent. It takes me back to the days of high school when we'd go all the time. Sometimes they were good days, sometimes they were not. But, atleast it was time that we spent together. It was our "thing." Then Brandon came along and wanted to learn how to play sometime between high school and college. Worst decision I ever made was teaching him how to play golf - we'd have a lot more quality time if it weren't for that game... Anyways, outings with my dad turned into outings with Brandon or outings with my dad and Brandon. None of which were ever the same as just me and Dad. Don't get me wrong, anything involving Dayton will never be the same as it used to be, but I must say, we had a great time this morning! They're leveling all of the lots by the golf course which will be our home one day (hopefully sooner than later!) and Dayton loved the huge tractors they were using out there. He just pointed and stared and hollared (Trc-ter!!!) The weather was wonderful - warm and sunny. We both played okay - not great- but okay. If I play bad, I quit. I'm pretty competitive still when it comes to golf, it's something I can't get out of my blood. When I play, I play to win - and I tied my dad so I consider that a win for me! Dayton was sleeping right when we put him in the car seat, so we ran to Jack's Drive-In and picked up some plate lunches to go: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, squash - it was yummy!!! Dayton is still sleeping but he'll be happy to know I have a fresh corn dog waiting for him in the microwave - they're his favorite.

Believe it or not, I didn't take my camera w/ me this morning. It would've been just another distraction. Sorry - no pics - but I did take a lot of pics yesterday so I'll try to get some posted soon!!!

I love tractors and Mikeska's....

Okay, we went to Wal-Mart the other day w/ the intention of buying some sort of swing set/slide combo and we couldn't find anything I liked. I'll have to wait til my next trip to Toys 'R Us. Since I promised Dayton "a toy", we made our way up and down each toy aisle trying to select very carefully the perfect one. He spotted this John Deere tractor right away and shrilled w/ delight. I said, "Do you want a tractor?" He shook his head - YES! (his new trick - he says yes to everything. It's hilarious - Dayton, do you want to take a nap - yes! Dayton, is your daddy ugly - yes!) Anyways, this is Dayton's first "real" John Deere tractor. He loves it!

Aunt Alicia - be very proud. Here is Date tearing up hime some chopped burger - he ate about 75% of one whole burger. He loves it. Feel free to use these pics for y'allls next advertisement/billboard.

Here is Dayton and Austin at the library this morning - finally a book these two were interested in - all about trucks, cars, boats, etc. I swear, this kid is all boy!!!!

More Mother's Day Pics...

Here is a pic of me and Date on the mule out in the country - Dayton is our little cowboy - he loves anything to do w/ tractors, farms, cows, etc. He jumped right in and started to pretend to shift gears. We'd say, "Dayton, we got gas?" and he'd nod his head and smile - yes!!!

Here we are at Great Grandma Vasut's house. Grandpa Vasut has a beautiful vegetable garden so I took tons of pics of Dayton amongst all the green plants. Grandpa found a cucumber that was ready to pick and Dayton decided it was ready to eat, too! (That's a green bean he's got in the other hand) Talk about organic!!!

I love this picture. This is Dayton in the middle of the garden. I love all of the green leaves surrounding him!

Okay, get used to the artsy pictures. I'm really trying out this photography stuff. Here's a cool (I think) picture in the Vasut's backyard. That's a lady bug sitting on the left side of the flower - amazing!!!

Happy Mother's Day to Me!!!

Here's a pic of the beautiful flowers I got on Thursday - 2 dozen assorted roses! :)

Okay, so I've really been playing w/ my camera lately and what can I say, when you're desperate for a subject, you're desperate for a subject. Giving Dayton a small break from the camera - poor Lucy!

Here's Dayton swinging in my parents backyard - he LOVES to swing!

A random pic of Dayton at Great Grandma Zabodyn's house.

Feel free to test it out...

Go Ponies!!!

Well, as if the fair wasn't enough fun for one day, Dayton and I went and watched Bryn's t-ball game last night. It was her first Wednesday game; hence, the first one Aunt Jenna's been able to attend. She did great - quite an athlete. It must be that good Rod blood ;) I didn't make it out of there w/ any good pics of Brock and Dayton, but I wish I would've. They were too funny - both wearing almost the exact same baseball shirt and w/ the same baseball cap on. Dayton loved watching Bryn and we were probably a little distracting to her game play, but oh well!

Yesterday was Brock's day w/ Aunt Jenna and Dayton. Today we had Anna over. Tomorrow is Fair Day, so Bryn will be spending the day w/ us since she's off of school. Dayton is loving getting to see all of his cousins. Aunt Jenna is tired - but it's fun!

More Fair Pics...
