TuTu Tuesday!

A sneak peak of some of Miss Mallory’s birthday attire (I know, I’m early, but you know me and she’s having her one year pics done at the beginning of October so I must be prepared!)  I made this tutu for her.  Saw one in town for 30 bucks and refused to pay that much.  Went to Hobby Lobby and bought all the supplies for 8 bucks – ;)  Obviously the green onesie is not part of the finished product – we were just trying on the tutu for size!

As for the rest of the pics, I’ll let the pictures do the talking – just some pics I’ve been meaning to get posted…

Fantasy Football Flowers

The only good thing to come from any fantasy football drafts this year – I got these beautiful flowers.  End of story, we’re not even gonna go there…

Have I mentioned how much I hate fantasy football?!?!?

Little Ricebirds…

Friday night marked a historic event in Miss Mallory’s life – her first football game outside of the womb!  I have to admit, I was extremely nervous about how she’d react.  She is going through some major stranger anxiety right now so all this noise and action may have been too much for her.  But, apparently Mallory shares the same love for sports as the rest of her family (okay, maybe she doesn’t love sports yet, but she loved all of the sights and sounds!).  She just stared in every direction and took it all in.  She was so well behaved.  I can remember Dayton being good at games, but never this good.  We always just kept Date busy w/ snacks.  Mallory didn’t even need snacks, she was perfectly fine attending to all of the action around her.  The Ricebirds won so that really made the night even greater!  Dayton cracked me up – at halftime, he wanted to know where all the football players were going.  Apparently, since last football season, he had forgotten about all the halftime festivities.  When I explained that it was time to watch the girls dance and listen to the band play, he said, “I don’t want to hear them play music.  I want to watch FOOTBALL!”  Proud moment for his Daddy ;)

Here are a couple of pictures:

MeMe and DeDe came along for some football fun!

We saw the kiddos when we were leaving the game.  Here’s Anna and Date.  Bryn and Anna cheered on the track for the first quarter – they did a great job :)

After all the excitement, Mallory was ready to unwind w/ a nice bottle – matching bib and all (would you expect any less for our Ricebird princess????)

Here’s Dayton showing off his new glow in the dark Ricebird football.  These things have come a long way from the hard plastic ones we used to have!

IMG_7092

Okay – let’s have a little fun now!  I dug deep into my picture files and was able to come across Dayton’s first Ricebird football game so let’s compare!  Describe these pics in one word: FAT!  Date was fat, Mommy was fat and even Daddy was a little fat! ;)  They are pretty funny though.  Also, keep in mind they were taken on Sept 7, 2007 – Date was only 6 months old!  He was gigantic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_1493 IMG_1495 IMG_1496 IMG_1497

I think I remember it being so hot and Dayton being so sweaty that we literally stripped him down in the middle of the game!  No jeans anymore – just a nice onesie – omg!

IMG_1500

And for those of you really nice friends who say they just can’t for the life of them remember me being THAT big – here is proof!  I was THAT big and then some.  This is 6 months after I had him and I’m not going any further back than this – I was much bigger.  So let me take a second and thank God for how far I’ve come – ha!

Future Model???

Probably not, but we do have a tall little girl on our hands!  Just got back from the doctor for Mallory’s 9 month check up and we have ourselves a healthy little girl ;)

Weight:  22.1 lbs (90th percentile)

Height:  31 inches (>95th percentile)

We want to keep growing taller Little Girl!  Let’s be tall like your Daddy!!!

So other than our snotty little nose we’ve been fighting lately, all is well in the world for Mallory!  Can’t believe her next check-up will be 1 year – time goes by so fast!

Here are some pics from yesterday:

Happy 9 month birthday, Princess!

Mallory is 9 months old today – crazy!  She amazes us every day w/ how much she grows and the things that she does.  We love her to pieces and I don’t know what me, her Daddy or her Big Bro would do w/o her.  I can’t believe her first birthday is only three short months away.  It’s bittersweet not having Date around these days, but it is giving me so much more one on one time w/ Mallory and I am savoring every minute I get b/c she is growing so fast.  We have loved our first few days of girl time.  She is a great shopping buddy and she’s not into tv at all, so I actually get to semi-watch my soaps again ;)  Here’s what Miss Mally is up to these days:

-Sleeps from around 8:30 at night to 8:00 in the morning; although, she has been waking up a lot earlier lately w/ Date’s new school schedule

-Takes two naps a day – morning and afternoon.  Length? Varies, but they are atleast getting more consistent when Big Bro is not around and the house is nice and quiet for her

-Still eats 4 6 oz bottles a day along w/ cereal for breakfast, a meat/veggie for lunch and fruit for dinner.  Is starting to really like table food and loves anything that she can feed herself – such a big girl!

-Wears 9 month clothing but all the new fall stuff I’ve bought is 12 months – we’re on the verge of switching over.

-Weighs around 22 lbs (we think).  We go for our check up on Thursday so I’ll have official stats then!

-Says Mamma, Dadda and Babba and can wave bye-bye when she wants.

-Loves to give her baby doll kisses and can point to “Baby’s eyes”.

-Loves to be read to

-Loves to hear you bark like a dog – laughs like crazy.  Not sure why but it’s pretty funny

-Has 3 teeth and 3 more on the way

-Isn’t much on toons yet but it’s obvious that her favorites are Barney and Wonder Pets!

-Crawls around like crazy, pulls up on everything and can shimmy her way down an entire coffee table in about one second flat

-Has started biting Dayton when she gets mad at him – this could be bad ;)

-Sings herself to sleep

-Loves her blankie

-Loves to give hugs and thinks its great when you blow her a kiss

I’m sure, as always, that I’m leaving some important milestone out, but that’s all I’ve got right now!

I also failed to take any good pictures of the birthday girl today, so you guys can laugh at these:

Go ahead and laugh – this isn’t the greatest pic.  Here she is this morning – mouth open, snotty nose and all!

IMG_7052

And, since I didn’t get any of her awake tonight, I snuck in and took this one of her sleeping – notice her blankie that she is so attached to!

IMG_7054

When I snuck in to take the pic of Mally, here’s what I found.  Date was still awake and watching his Star Wars cartoons – so happy to see him so happy this week ;)

Another good morning :)

This morning was another successful morning for Mr. Dayton – got up happy, had breakfast, got dressed and he was off w/ Daddy to school!  Daddy reported that there was no crying yet again.

I’m not sure what all they learned at school last week, but Date opens up a little more every day.  Last night we caught him counting his fingers and talking to himself while he was getting ready for bed.  We thought it looked strange – not sure what he was doing.  He started doing the same thing again this morning while I was helping him get dressed.  Then, I heard him say the word syllable –what?  I asked what he was doing and he explained – “foot-ball” – two fingers – two syllables – crazy!  I asked him where he learned this – we definently don’t talk about syllables on a daily basis and he said school – he is learning to count syllables – I was pretty amazed.  It was a proud little moment.  I called for Brandon and he showed off his new skill to Daddy, too.  So, I’m not positive if he learned this during a lesson or what, but it didn’t come from me, so I am assuming he learned it at school – pretty cool!

Mallory is still suffering from a horrible runny nose, but here are some pictures of her this morning – dancing attire of course – in honor of Mommy’s first day back at work ;)

These were taken early this morning so she doesn’t look too awake and her eyes are a little puffy from her allergy stuff…

IMG_7045 IMG_7046 IMG_7048

So w/ Date gone, Mallory is my new secretary.  Here she is learning to pay some bills…

IMG_7050

Wow, Mommy.  We sure do shop a lot.  We really owe these people this much money????

The Weekend…

The weekend was fun.  We started our weekend w/ Dayton’s promised trip to Benihana’s and Toys R Us.  While Dayton had an awesome time, Mallory was traumatized by our outing.  We went to Benihana’s a few weeks ago and she loved it – her eyes were glued to the chef the whole time.  This trip was very different – she was deathly afraid of our chef and any chef that walked by.  She screamed her head off and her whole body shook.  We had to take turns holding her at the front by the bar until the meal was completely cooked and the chef had left the table.  Kind of defeated the purpose of going to Benihana’s.  I don’t think we’ll be back there for a while :)  Toys R Us was a huge success – Star Wars stuff everywhere we turned.  Date was amazed at everything and left w/ lots – some from Mommy and Daddy, some from DeDe and PaPa.  He got more figures, a SW notebook set (said he needed it for his homework – ha!), a ship, a dvd, a wii game and some nerf lightsabers for his remotes for the wii – fun stuff.  We also went by Target and Daddy picked up Attack of the Clones (for himself more than for Dayton).  We watched it three times this weekend and it’s two and a half hours long – I never thought I’d ever know so much useless information about SW and I never knew my husband already knew so much useless information about SW!!!

Anyways, hung out most of the day on Saturday, went to church on Saturday evening and Brock spent the night on Saturday night.  Sunday I went to the studio in the morning to do lots of last minute preps before my first day of classes tomorrow (yay!) and then went home and packed up and headed to Splashway for Brandon’s cousins’ birthday parties.  We had fun and wore ourselves out.  I can’t believe I start dance tomorrow.  I can’t believe August is almost over – time flies by faster and faster these days!!!

PICTURES:::

I told y’all Mallory was a rockstar – here’s what she wore to Sugarland on Friday evening:

Waiting for Daddy to get home so we can get on the road :)  Hand in the mouth b/c Mallory is still teething horribly – I am proud to announce that she did cut her top left front tooth over the weekend and three more top teeth are going to be following very shortly!
