Egg Hunt, Wedding and House...

Well, I've got a couple of updates for you guys. This weekend was a busy one, yet again. On Saturday we went to an Easter egg hunt in the morning and went to Brandon's Aunt's wedding in the afternoon/evening. On Sunday, we went to church and then it was off to Houston for yet another house shopping trip. Hopefully we're near the end of these trips. They are starting to wear me out!!!

Enjoy the pics!

The house is moving right along. Paint is finished, tile is going in and carpet and fixtures should be in by the end of this week - there's a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Here's a pic of the entryway ceiling:

A view from the entryway:

The dining room - the blue color is our accent color in the dining room, living room and masterbath:

Kitchen cabinets - hard to get the real picture of what they look like, but these are the glazed one and the island is black:

Master bathroom vanities:

Here's a view of our wonderful living room w/ no furniture besides a card table :) We had an open house yesterday so maybe we'll get a bite soon...

Dayton liked petting the bunny:

He wasn't really in to taking any pictures:

He liked hunting eggs and didn't want to stop at the 10 egg limit!

Here's our little cowboy before the wedding on Saturday:

Dayton liked him some strawberries!

A rare pic of me and Brandon:

A rare family pic:

Me and Brandon led the grand march - we are getting to be quite the pros:

Dayton and I share our first dance - I swear my arm was going to fall off by the end of the song - he is soooo heavy!!!

I couldn't resist the Cupid Shuffle:

Laugh or Cry?

That was the question I asked myself when I got home from dancing last night and realized what was going on. Brandon was standing in the garage at the back door w/ his hands crossed. I got out and of course asked why he was outside and where was Dayton. Well, turns out that Brandon had gone outside about 30 minutes earlier to get some ugly mushrooms out of the yard and when he came back to get in the house, Dayton had dead bolted him out. He didn't have his cell phone or keys and he couldn't leave Dayton, so he was pretty much screwed. He ran around the house to the back patio where he could atleast see in and watch what Dayton was doing. He begged Date to pull his new stool over to one of the doors and unlock it, but it never happened. When we rushed through front door w/ my keys, we didn't see Date. We called for him and finally here he came out of the utility room. He had pulled out all kinds of stuff and had it tossed about the house from one end to the other. His face was absolutely filthy w/ dirt (not sure where he picked that up from). We could tell every room he'd been in by looking at all the handprints on all the walls. Brandon had turkey manwhich on the stove (on low, thank God), but it was pretty well burnt - "dog food" I think were Brandon's words for it - I still ate it, I was starving. It was quite an experience and we definently learned our lesson. It's just one of those things you think could never happen and then it does. So, moral of the story, don't go picking ugly mushrooms when your terrible two year old is inside by himself...

Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay...

Wastin' time. That's what we did all weekend - it was absolutely wonderful. I'm looking forward to a whole summer of weekends just like it! We went down to the bay on Friday night and got back this afternoon in time to unpack and go to church. We fished and fished and fished and caught nothing (actually I caught a kite, yes - a kite), but other than that - nothing. Just got a really red back, but that's okay - I needed the sun. It was fabulous - lots of good food and good times. Enjoy the pics - there are lots - now it's back to reality tomorrow, but that's okay.

The garage sale went great - made about 1,300 so it was worth it. Only problem is we sold our living room furniture and dining room furniture, so me and Brandon are camped out on blankets on the living room floor as we speak. I think it'll be fun for about two days, but it's gonna get old real fast...

Thanks Aunt Jennifer for the cool shirt - I rocked it out!!!

S'mores anyone???

Daddy and Date by the fire, waiting to make some s'mores...

So exciting!!!

I hadn't done this in ages - so much fun! We found some sticks and got busy. This is definently gonna be a new tradition for the Zabodyn family :)

Dayton's first taste of roasted marshmallows. He loved the idea of burning the marshmallows, but the taste and texture were a little strange to him.

So good! I was lovin' me some s'mores. We almost pee'd our pants laughing at Date as he would sling his stick around. We just knew the marshmallow would fly off and hit someone in the head/hair like on Dennis the Menace...

Mommy, Date and Daddy:

On Saturday morning, Date was determined to go fishing, so, of course, we went...

I was loving these pics of him by the water - we went to the same place I got the good pics the last time we were down there...

Check out the funny shirt we got him last weekend in Louisiana - too cute!

More family fishing, and yet again - no bites...

Saturday around lunch, Date, Brandon and me loaded up and headed to Port Lavaca for a ride and lunch. We found a hole-in-the-wall mexican food restaurant called El Patio - it was soooo good. We went to Wal-Mart - one of the most exciting things in Port Lavaca and to get some live bait (which did us no good), then headed back for the afternoon. I went out on the boat w/ bz, Wayne and Mr. House. We tried to head down the river and got stuck. We get stuck every time we got out, but this time was bad. We made it out about an hour later, did a little more fishing, and then headed back to make dinner. We had homemade fried chicken and Grandpa and MeMe came down to join us. We had a wonderful evening - minus the outcome of the UT basketball game, but we were exhausted at the end of the night!

Here's some pics of Date on Saturday afternoon when I was going to try to attempt to do some two years pics. We were having too much fun and didn't work out, but here's some funny shots that I got, none the less:

Sometimes I wonder about this kid???

This morning we decided to take Date for his first real boat ride. I didn't know if he'd like it too much, but of course, being the boy he is - he loved it! We fished some more, caught nothing, got more sunburned, packed up and headed home...

That's all for now. You should all be proud of me - this was a big post for me - I promise to try to keep up better this week. Thanks for hanging in there - have a great week! JZ

I'm back - sorry!

Okay, lots has gone on over the past week. Not much exciting, just lots. I've got a couple of minutes to post so we'll see how long this last before Date wakes up ;)

Some things worth noting over the last week to catch you up:
*Date is such a big boy now. He's been off the "boppy" aka pacifier for 5 days now. He had a earache the first part of this week and the sucking was hurting him, so we decided it would be a good time to get rid of it - yeah! Potty training is still going - it's not as exciting for him as it was at first but we're gonna keep trying. He is loving him some golf and this nice weather we've had the last few days. Brandon swears he's the next Tiger Woods. The other day we told him to keep his eye on the ball - he literally bent down and put his eye on the ball - it was hilarious!

*Cory Morrow was great - I love me some Cory Morrow. Minus the fact that right before he went on stage, my lovely husband accidently bumped the red glass of wine that was sitting on the table in front of me and it proceeded to drench my cream colored silk shirt and blue jeans - ouch! Didn't slow me down though, I proceeded to throw on a Cory Morrow t-shirt and enjoy the rest of my night - pretty funny :)

*Coushatta was okay - we didn't lose any money but we didn't come home big winners either. I ate entirely too much and gained like 4 lbs. I'm still trying to work them off - it was worth it though!

*The house is moving along greatly - I've gotta get some new pics - our cabinets are finished (minus the vent hood) and the walls are painted and we have a garage door - all very exciting. We're looking at being in there in the next 30 - 45 days - gulp!

Below are some pics over the past week since he turned TWO last Monday :)

Here's my little birthday boy the day of his birthday!

Dayton blows out his candles:

Naptime must go on - even on birthdays!!!

A morning of golf w/ Grandpa, Bryn and Brock:

Grandpa steps in for some lessons:

Dayton digs his ball out of the hole:

Here's a pic from a rainy day last week:

We brought this home from Louisiana for Dayton - it's his new "Rody".

That's all for now - hope this will hold you over til after the dreaded garage sale!!! This weekend we're headed to the bay, so I'll have pics by Monday. I'm gonna try to do Date's 2 year pics by myself down there, so we'll see how they go - any suggestions on wardrobe? I still haven't decided what to dress him in - have a good one! :)

I'm still here...

I am - I just haven't had the time/energy to post this week. I've even got new pics of Date I need to post. I was sick at beginning of the week and since I've felt good enough to do stuff, seems like I havne't had time to breathe!!! I'll get some new updates posted soon, sorry!!!!

Have a great weekend - Cory Morrow tonight and Coushatta tomorrow - am I 21 again or what? Kid, what kid????

Just joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time Flies By...

So, I was thinking today and I realized that 3 years ago today, I had no idea what the future had in store for us. We were planning our trip to Mexico - a way to "celebrate" the fact that we were going to start trying - wow!

Two years ago today, I was the proudest new mommy in the whole world. Completely head over heels in love w/ my new son and wanting to show him off to the world!

A year ago today, I was in awe that a whole year had gone by w/ my baby boy - happy that he was wobbly walking and on whole milk.

Today, I'm still in awe of how much he grows w/ each new day. He's a walking, talking, pottying machine. Happy Birthday Dayton - Mommy and Daddy love you!!!
