Another Year Older…

…But not a day wiser ;)  That’s right my friends, I am now the big 2-9 – ask me again next  year and I’ll be the big 2-9 all over again.  I’ve decided that this is as old as I’ll ever get and that’s that.  “I don’t feel old” – I used to say this all the time, but after realizing that I am now the proud owner of not one but two small children I feel old.  After realizing that I just celebrated my 10 year class reunion, I feel old.  After realizing that the girls who work for me have never even heard of the music I listened to in high school, I feel old.  After realizing I’ve traded in Boone’s and wine coolers and fruity drinks for Merlot, I feel old.  This list could go on and on.  Now, don’t take this as a pity party for me – I feel old isn’t such a bad thing.  It’s just stating the facts.  I’m a young vibrant MILF – now I have some of you people’s attention – ha!  So, a blog that’s a little outside the box today.  Maybe I’m turning over a new leaf w/ my old age or maybe I’ve reach a dreaded pre-mid life crisis.  Who knows?

Anyways – back to reality.  The birthday was a good day.  I got a pedi, ran around running errands and doing random things, had lunch w/ my husband, went to work, and then had dinner w/ my favorite parents and in-laws in the world (keep in mind they all read this blog – brownie points headed my way!)  My husband was stuck in a bank meeting on my birthday evening – I don’t even know what they were thinking when they dared to schedule a meeting on MY birthday, but they did and we survived – no biggie.  That just means we get to go out for birthday dinner tonight at Greek’s – yay!  I got lots of cool stuff.  My family is fabulous and has excellent taste and gave me cool things like big black wonderful purses that I’m already using (thanks Amy!) and fabulously fashionable shawls that are so luxurious and cute (thanks Sandie!).  I also got some new kicks from my parents, money which I spent on clothes from my in-laws, some itunes gift cards to buy stuff for my new iPad (yes I’m officially in the cool kids club now) which was given to me for my birthday from myself.  Brandon gave me a night’s stay at a Houston hotel along w/ spa day, Visa shopping card and dinner out – sounds good to me.  Now it’s just finding the time to get away:)

In other important news, let the rumor mill begin – Jenna is driving Brandon’s bimmer and Brandon is driving his Dad’s new gigantic truck – according to people in El Campo, I’m sure this means that I got my vehicle repo’d and Wayne gave Brandon the truck as a gift to us –ha!  However, let me set the record straight – the Aspen is officially SOLD! YAY!  I can’t wait to get my new cool soccer mom car which I have wanted for so very, very long.  I am an Infiniti girl since I had my FX way back when and I am itching to get back behind the wheel of my new Infiniti QX.  They tell me it’s coming in “in November”.  That’s gonna make November a long month for me as I await the arrival of my new baby (aka the beast).  Til then, I’ll continue to drive Brandon’s car (very carefully) and he’ll continue to channel his inner-cowboy and drive his dad’s big ass truck – ha!  Sorry I have no pics, I must say I think it is still equally entertaining…

Happy 11 Month Bday Candy Corn Princess!

IMG_8055

Our sweet little Mallory turned 11 months yesterday – WOW!  How hard to believe is that?  I am amazed and happy and saddened by it all at once – I don’t want my little baby to grow up so fast, but I am so proud of her and her appreciation for the world every day.  I love my nosy, observant, strong-willed little girl.  Upward and onward from here, sweet princess!

At 11 months old Mallory is….

*WALKING!  We are very proud of these recent accomplishment!

*Wears 12-18 months clothes

*Weighs approximately 24.5 lbs and is still very tall for her age

*Still drinks 4 6 oz bottles a day

*Eats mainly table food and whatever we are having for lunch/dinner.  Her favorite meals are lunchables :) Loves dry cereal and mini vanilla wafers…

*Still talks a lot and recently learned a new word: “bug” or “bu”.  Her favorite book right now is called “I Like Bugs!”

*Loves to play w/ Dayton barn and farm animals.

*Loves for Dayton to play anything with her and still thinks he’s hilarious.  Has learned to hold her own by pinching and biting on rare occasions ;)

*Had her first non-check up doctor’s appt and prescription this month – for her yucky eyes!  So, knock on wood – she’s been very healthy!

*Can clap to the beat – this makes Mommy very excited!

*Loves football games – she just sits and watches and claps – so fun!

*Starting to form her own dancing moves – hilarious!

*Is super ready to celebrate her very first Halloween ;)

NOW, here are some pictures from the Presbyterian carnival yesterday.  The kiddos had a blast!

This is Dayton’s first pony ride – He has always been afraid to ride one and they had this little mini one so he gave in – it was too cute!

Ain’t Nothing Pretty about the Horns…

Right now EXCEPT my precious little Longhorn kiddos!  Even though the Horns are absolutely painful to watch, my two sweeties lightened the mood just enough to help Mommy and Daddy make it through the day.  I’m so glad we had them both along.  The weather was overcast and not too hot for Mallory.  They both are very faithful fans and they both yelled and cheered and tried their hardest to cheer the Horns to a victory.  Too bad they didn’t pull it out for these two big fans!  Also – we gave Mr. Gilbert ONE more chance and decided to let Date wear his jersey – never again…

What is Mallory so interested in????

The cheerleaders, of course!

Still playing catch up…

Here are some pictures that still haven’t gotten posted.  Now that my Vegas posts are over, I can get back to my good ole’ normal posts :)

Dayton stayed home w/ us last Wednesday before we left for Vegas so I could spend some time w/ him before our trip.  We went to the library and it was cute to see the kiddos interact together!

With everything else going on, Dayton and I managed to get his pumpkin decorated for the library pumpkin bash!  He decided to go w/ an aquarium – I think it turned pretty good for as little time as we had.  He painted it and stuck all the stickers and googly eyes on it.

Football and Derby Dolls

Friday night we went to the EC vs BC game at Ricebird Stadium.  We had fun watching the Birds stomp all over the Blackcats and I also got to attend the Derby Doll 40 Year Reunion.  The class of 2000 represented, as usual.  We had a great turn out and it was good to see everyone and reminisce about the good ole’ days because everyone knows that I was the most wonderful Derby Doll Captain to walk the halls of El Campo High School (insert sarcasm here)…

Here we are entering the track – I’m the one in the back row w/ the sign.  I thought it I carried the sign, it would keep me from having to do the Julida Polka – no such luck…

The had a GREAT turn out!
