Mind if I take a moment to rewind and go backwards? Forward, backward, up, down, sideways, inside out (if that’s even possible). I’m pretty sure I’m going all directions and in between lately. I’m hardly ever sure what I’m doing, but I’m doing it. Frantically. Every March/April, I start to sound like a broken record: “I’m so busy, yada, yada, yada.” Aren’t you sick of hearing me complain? My husband is, but he has no choice. That’s his job. Show your wife moral support during her busy time of year for work. It’ll pay off. Anyways, yes, the Zabodyn household is in full-fledge recital preparation mode – What does this mean? How can you tell? There’s toys in EVERY room – including the bathrooms, the guest room cannot be entered due to the amount of costumes, props, hair bows, shoe bows, and set preparation in the room, the smell of burnt skin lingers in the air from my first hot glue gun casualties of the season, and be prepared to leave this house with some form of glitter and/or sequins somewhere on your body. I swear, there are places I find glitter that I’m not even sure how it gets there! Poor Dayton – I try to do somewhat of a pat-down every morning before he leaves for school. What boy comes to school with glitter on his face? Geesh…
So, anyways, now that I’ve gotten all that nonsense out of the way, let’s get to what you really care about, the reason you really stalk this blog – my children ;) We’re going in reverse and I’m shoving a bunch of neat little posts all into one. Sorry…
My cute little spring girl the other day before we went on one of our “Wacky Wednesday” shopping trips:
As if two birthday parties wasn’t enough, Dayton got to enjoy one more at school last Friday – they celebrate the monthly birthdays on the last Friday of every month. So he enjoyed being sang to by his classmates and eating sprinkled sugar cookies, pretzels and milk.
We went to the Eggstravaganza on Saturday. The kids had a great time but wanted nothing to do with the Easter Bunny. That was fine with me – I still managed to get some decent pics!
Only Easter Bunny they were interested in taking a picture with!
Here they are before church last Saturday:
See her sweet Easter bow by Cary Hairbows? Also, check out my little chic’s long ponytail – we’re getting there…
Sunday was Opening Ceremonies for El Campo Little League at the ballpark. It was a fun afternoon and I’m so excited that my little man is playing this year! I’m pleased to say he has a lot of late games meaning that Mommy will make more than half of them (better than making 20 minutes of one soccer game during soccer season). While most parents are probably dreading “late” games – I’m thrilled because I’ll be off work by then. I’m also thrilled to report that his first game was rained out yesterday so they’re playing tomorrow morning – a Saturday game – how great for Mommy! I’m gonna get to watch Dayton’s first tball game and I couldn’t be more excited!!! I’m sure I’ll have PLENTY of pics to post soon!
Mallory says take me out to the ballpark!
We are the BEARS! Coach Zabodyn and kiddos:
Dayton got his jersey on Sunday. He got #3. He was cool with this – this is the same number as Anna and Anna informed him that that was also Uncle Coby’s number when he played college ball at SWT…
Waiting to go on the field – talking with Coach Wadsworth:
We were on the “boy” side so I managed to get a great pic of this super-cute baseball player. Can’t believe this guy is playing pee-wee league this year. Doesn’t he look like a good little ball player? I missed Anna’s team – she was on the other side.
The Bears on the field:
It was really neat to see so many kids and volunteers out on that field:
Miss Bryn and Mally:
It was H-O-T out there, so what better way to kick off baseball season than with a snocone?
And, it’s almost that time – swimming time! PaPa heated the pool and hot tub a bit on Wednesday so the kiddos could take a swim. Dayton picked up right where he left off last summer. I was afraid he’d be really timid, but he did great. We’ve got to remember how to actually swim again, but he was jumping in and going under and carrying on like a champ!
Now, good thing Dayton is somewhat self-sufficient in the pool, because this little diva is going to need all eyes on her at all time when we are in and around the water. I swear, she’s gonna give me grey hair…
Our new ladybug puddle jumper. This makes Mommy breath a little easier. Last year she hated, hated, hated floaties on her. She did great with this device on Wednesday and it seems to actually work. Let’s hope she keeps this up!
Daddy’s little girl:
How big is my baby getting?!?!
So that was somewhat of a catch up. Atleast for now – something else to check off the list. I can’t wait for summer to blog more often about the stuff we’re up to ;) and new recipes that I’ve tried. I’ve been cooking- can you believe it? And it’s all edible and tastes delicious. Just you wait. Let’s just all cross our fingers and hope I make it to May 6th in a sane manner!
