Today's Sonogram/Appointment

Today's appointment went very well. Our sonogram (after much poking, prodding and rolling around on the table) did verify that we do have ourselves a girl indeed! She was so camera shy today. She moves around all of the time, but during that 20 minutes of me lying on the table, she decided it would make a great time for a quick cat nap - wonderful, Mallory. Thank you! We did get to see her in bits and pieces; however, she is quickly running out of room so while I did go ahead and post the pics for you guys, they are rather boring. We tried for the 3d sonogram but no such luck. Her face was pretty much smooshed against my uterus - what a wonderful picture! hahaha! She is currently around 3 lbs 10 oz and in the 50th percentile for her "age". Wow- you mean we actually have an "average" sized kid on our hands for now!!!! Everything looked wonderful for Mallory and Mommy and we cornered Dr. Sangalli into giving us a concrete date. Mallory will be born on Monday, November 30th unless I go into labor before then. We are super excited - that's only 2 months from today - wow!!!! I went and bought some Dreft this afternoon so that I can start ripping tags off of clothes and getting all those adorable pink clothes washed before she arrives!

Here's her slight profile - she has part of her back facing the camera so it's a strange angle... Camera shy, I tell you. She turning her back to us - does she not know how much her mother uses her camera???!!!????

This is a view of her spine and head; it's taken as if she is looking down...

Here's another profile pic - sort of....

I told you - the pics aren't great, but we'll take 'em. We can't wait to meet her in person in 8 1/2 weeks!

Another Weekend of Football...

Here are some pics from the weekend:

Here's a picture of Dayton w/ his garter on at Homecoming on Friday night:

Dayton at the game:

I don't know what it is about the Zabodyn men, but they don't like to smile w/ their teeth I guess - is that not the same facial expression or what???

DeDe found Daddy's jersey from when he was in high school, so Date had the best time "trying it on". It's still a little big, but hopefully one day, he'll grow into it ;)

It's hard to play football when you're tripping over your shirt!!!

How else do you think Date gets from the parking garage to the stadium? Daddy's getting stronger by the week!

Okay here are some close ups of Date. I know they're all very similar, but tI thought they were too cute!

The game was super hot and between me, Date and Mallory, it was hard for us to last very long. Me and Date spent most of the 1st quarter outside of the stadium's Starbucks, having a iced drink and watching the game on tv in the a.c. What other stadium in the country has an actual full-sized Starbuck's inside? Gotta love Austin! I switched off w/ Brandon for the 2nd quarter and he stayed in the a.c. w/ Date while I got to watch some of the game. Mallory got a little upset w/ me for having her out in the heat and I was contracting a bit, so it was time to leave right before halftime. We headed over to Pluckers for wings and the rest of the game. It was a fun time!

Sunday morning we went to church and we got asked to carry up the gifts - I was a nervous wreck. I didn't know how it was going to go. I figured I'd fall or Dayton would cry or something horrible. Traci - I am again happy to report that Dayton made it up a church aisle w/ no problems. We are getting a lot of practice in for the big ring bearer debute!!! Sunday afternoon we went to the church picnic and it was a lot of fun! Dayton got a Case pedal tractor w/ trailer, a toy John Deere excavator, a toy John Deere tractor and Mommy got a huge plant that I'll probably kill, but it's really pretty!

I had to throw this pic in there. This is Date this morning after he ate his jelly toast. His skin has a strange allergic reaction to jelly and when he smears jelly from one end of his face to the other, it's hard to prevent it from looking like this. It's no reason to be alarmed, it goes away w/i thirty minutes. I took the picture to show Brandon b/c he's never seen this happen to him and I want him to be prepared if he ever feeds him pb&j or something when I'm not around!

Plans for this week? Dancing today and tomorrow, our last sonogram appt on Wednesday morning, DU banquet on Wed night, dancing on Thursday and then it'll be the weekend already. We may head down to the bay. Haven't been there in a couple of weeks and the Zabodyns are having a pier put in so we may be able to fish off our own pier by the weekend - yeah!

Miss Mallory's Nursery

Okay, I actually had time to sit and breathe this afternoon so I've decided to post some pics of Mallory's nursery. Keep in mind it is a work in progress. There is nothing on the walls yet and it still has a ways to go, but atleast you can see the bedding and such. My dad is working on painting some decor and some shelves for the walls, so new pics to come soon!

Dayton helped Daddy build the tv stand the other night. He even got out his Handy Manny toolbox. They had a great time!

Dayton at work:

This is my cradle from when I was a baby. The matress pad isn't finished yet so it's empty. It will have a light green pad on the inside w/ a coordinating throw pillow that has her name embroidered on it.

Here is the glider. This (along w/ the crib and changing table) were Bryn's and Brock's and they let us use them all for Dayton. Now Mallory will have her turn. I got the glider cushions covered when we had Dayton. They had denim and red trim until my mom's wonderful friend Mrs. Appling helped me change them. I ripped all of the pieces apart w/ a ripper and she re-sewed everything trimming it w/ the pink ribbon. Then, I attached the bows. The bear "Mally" is Dayton's build-a-bear that he made for his new baby sister.

Here is a picture of the valance (blinds aren't hung yet). If you notice, it's the same material used in Mallory's bed skirt on her bed. We bought two bed skirts and Mrs. Appling converted one into this adorable valance. She has been a life saver!

Here is a picture of Mallory's bedding. It turned out super cute.

Here's a pic of the crib w/ the rug:

Here's my lamp - I bought a plain shade and jazzed it up w/ some matching ribbon.

Here's a pic of Mallory's new bow holder. As you can see, she already has quite a collection - I'm all about the bows already. Love them! Hope she has hair, but even if she doesn't, don't worry. I'm prepared w/ the little headwraps that you can attach bows to ;)

The changing table - nothing too exciting b/c still don't have anything on those plain walls!

Here's a picture of the new light fixture. It's not hung yet so I took a picture of the box ;) We picked this out back when we were buying lighting for the house. We bought an ugly fixture for that room knowing that we'd change it out when/if we had another baby. Glad that time came sooner than later b/c that fixture we have in there now is pretty hideous. Went and bought it the other day and can't wait to see it hung...

Here's a small peak of her closet. Buying for a girl is too much fun!!! I'm hoping I don't go back for my sonogram on Wednesday and find out it's a boy!

Here's her outfit that she's probably going to wear home from the hospital. It was my first special purchase for Mallory. It's all monogrammed w/ her initials - a gown, snookie and matching burp cloth. Too cute!

Here's Dayton this morning before the pep rally. He is ready for the big homecoming game tonight.

Another picture of my future Ricebird:

Here's Dayton yesterday. I thought he looked cute so I took a picture. He stayed w/ his new babysitter last night - Ms. Lauren. I think he had a great time and he seems to have done well, so we are very happy about that!

Going to the game tonight and Austin tomorrow... Have a great weekend!!!

Quickie...

Just a little update on our week thus far. We've been trying to pull stuff together for the nursery. Seems like our weekends are jam-packed these days so I'm relying on my weekdays to get stuff done. My dad helped me yesterday get a few things together - he's making a large "M" framed and painted the colors of her room for us so we finally nailed down the paint colors - her bedding is extremely hard to match w/ anything! He started painting everything today and me and Date headed to Rosenberg w/ Mrs. Zabodyn to pick up a few things - a tv stand, some small shelves, a lamp and lamp shade, a rug, and a white and pink chandelier. We had a successful trip and Brandon even got the tv stand put together this evening so that was nice. I bought a white lamp shade and was very proud of my craftiness b/c I made a cute little pink bow on the front of the lamp to dress it up. It made me more confident in my ability to raise a girl - I can make her own bows if I wanted to, I guess. My dad is going to paint the shelves to match the room also. The only thing we're missing is a small end table for some decor and the lamp. My parents' neighbor made them a cradle when I was born and it's made it's way through a couple of different babies over the last 28 years. We considered using it w/ Dayton but it was a little "girly" so we've finally inherited it and it's now in Mallory's room. My mom's great friend, Mrs. Appling has been doing lots of sewing for me - she helped make the valance for the room and re-trim the glider and now she's going to make bedding and a pillow for the cradle. I don't really trust the cradle being that it is so old, but it is such an adorable addition to the room - even if it is just for decoration. I'll get some pictures posted of the nursery really soon - it's coming together! My biggest fear: that I go to the doctor next Wed for my sonogram and find out it's a boy!!!

Tomorrow morning Dayton has his flu shot, so keep your fingers crossed that we survive. Tomorrow night I have dancing and then I'm headed straight to the Boys and Girls Club fundraiser which is some sort of casino night so should be fun. Friday morning we're going to the pep rally and Friday night is homecoming in EC so we'll be going to the game. Saturday morning we're headed to Austin again for the game. I am loving this weather and wish it would not leave us ever!!!

Our weekend in Austin...

Well, we left Friday afternoon for a wonderful weekend in Austin. What made it the best weekend ever was not only winning on Saturday night, but the best thing was before we left town, we signed all of the paperwork on selling our house. It is officially sold and we are so happy. It made the weekend that much more enjoyable! Friday afternoon we went to Taylor first to see the Charger - it's coming along well. Then, on our way into Austin, we stopped in Pflugerville to look at a few playground equipment places. We're looking at finally getting Dayton a nice swingset/playhouse for the backyard. We went and checked into the hotel, rested a while and then got dressed to go eat at Hula Hut w/ Clint and Megan. It was a great relaxing evening. All I needed was a margarita and I would've been in heaven, but my water was fine, too.

Saturday morning, Brandon and I were both up around 4:00 a.m. I have been sleeping horribly lately and Brandon was having trouble sleeping, too. I think we were anxious about the game already. We managed to stay in bed until around 6:45. We woke up Dayton and all got dressed and headed over to Littlefield fountain which was only a block away from where we stayed to go see what was going on at College Game Day. There were already people out there so we checked it for a bit then walked over to McDonald's for a little breakfast. After we ate, we headed back over and managed to get a good little spot near Bevo. Bevo was having a bad day or something and he started stirring around and coming towards us, so we quickly found a new place. We sat towards the back of the main lawn. There were so many little families out there just like us, just sitting, relaxing, enjoying the beautiful weather and spending time together. It was so neat. We watched for a while then headed over to the coop for some shopping and a new Longhorn football. I think we have about 8 Longhorn footballs, but there were kids everywher playing ball outside, so Dayton had to have one, too. We walked back over to Game Day and sat on the lawn and played football for a while. Date made friends w/ a little four year old and they had the best time throwing, catching and "tackling" each other. We got to see Lance Armstrong because he was the guest for the show and actually walked right next to him on his way to his car. I didn't have my camera handy so no pics of that. When we got back to the hotel, Rick Barnes (TX's head basketball coach) was outside so it was cool to see him, too. I got pictures of him, but they are of the back of his head and of him w/ his eyes closed. We rested a while, then it was off to lunch w/ Brandon's family. After lunch, me, Brandon and Dayton headed out for a small shopping trip. We got back to the hotel in time to change clothes and get ready for the big game. The game was tons of fun but boy am I glad I have pretty good blood pressure on a daily basis, b/c I think it was sky high that night. The weather was hot and humid and when you're having to pass down a 36 lb. kid the whole game, it's quite a work out. Date doesn't have his own seat so he takes turn sitting on our laps or being held during the entire game. After the game, we stopped by the lit tower for a few fun pictures and then headed back to the hotel room where we decided we were hungry. We ordered Papa John's and Brandon and PaPa walked over to get it. I was extremely excited - I hadn't had Papa John's since college and it is my very favorite. We didn't get to bed until around 1:00 a.m. - including Dayton!

On Sunday, we woke up at 7:00 a.m. to go eat breakfast w/ Clint and Megan at Kerbey Lane's. We went to church at St. Austin's at 9:00. They had a baptism and called all the children forward to come watch it up close. My big boy made it all the way up the aisle and stayed to watch half of the baptism before he decided he was ready to come back to us - Traci, there is much hope that he'll be making it down the aisle in February - yeah! We were so proud of him. After church we went and packed up, went to the mall for a while and headed home. Full weekend and so much fun!!! Here are some pics!

The boys in front of the bus:

He'll thank me for this picture in 14 years - the cheerleaders were in love w/ him!

Some pretty flowers by the fountain:

Mommy and Date:

Dayton at the game - funny smile b/c he has gum in his cheek. Gum is his new favorite thing, but I must say he does very well at spitting it out every time he chews it!

Sweaty family pic in front of the tower lit up orange - what an exhausting, stressful game!

Here's Date in front of our hotel window w/ the lit tower in the back - what a fabulous view!

Appointment Update...

This morning I had another appointment - I'm now 28 1/2 weeks pregnant - hard to believe!!! Everything went really well. My blood pressure is 110/60, my urine test was quote "perfect", the heartbeat was great and I only gained 1 lb. since my last appointment. It was great to have a good check up. I ended the appointment w/ a flu shot. I don't think I've ever had one in the past but was certain that I wanted/needed one this year. The shot itself didn't hurt too bad (I HATE shots!) The aftermath was some slight burning and then some soreness. I'm feeling better already and I'm glad it's over with.

As of this afternoon we are officially moved out of the old place. I went and dropped off all the keys earlier. We'll probably sign all the paperwork between tomorrow and Friday morning and then everything will be complete and we'll be very happy owners of one house instead of two - yeah!!!! I celebrated yesterday afternoon by going on line and doing a little shopping for Mallory. For those of you who have seen her closet - I know, I don't need anything else, but I just couldn't resist a little shopping and I'm a sucker for anything monogrammed which is exactly what I bought.

My next appointment is in two weeks on the 30th. We'll be having our final "scheduled" sonogram - so hard to believe. Not sure if we'll get to do the 4D one again this time around, but I can't wait to see. Our little girl is as active as ever. She's had me in a very uncomfortable state the last few days. She is extremely active and she is stretching my tummy to the max. Date was never like this so it's like being pregnant for the first time all over again. I thought he was active until she began to move a lot. He was so much calmer than this. I think we're gonna have our hands full w/ this little drama queen! Dr. Sangalli told me it was pretty normal and not to worry. I hate to say I'm ready for her to run out of room so that she can't move as much, but a little relief would be nice. But, then it'll be a heel to the ribs or an elbow to the bladder - oh the joys of pregnancy :)

College Game Day in ATX...

In case you haven't seen the commercial. I think it's a pretty cute one. It's worth the few mintues it takes to watch it. Enjoy all you Texas fans and remember: Never "free style" Texas Fight...

Hook'em Horns!

Surprise Daddy!

We pulled a big one over on Brandon on Friday night. His little surprise party was quite a success and he was so happy when it was all said and done. He's been under a lot of stress lately so this was the perfect timing for him to get to hang out, throw back a few beers and catch up w/ some great friends. Thanks to everyone who made it possible - it really meant a lot to Brandon (and me!)

We gotcha!!!

His yummy cake - Italian Cream Cake!

*HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIFER - HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY AND A GREAT YEAR AHEAD!!!!

*We think we may have sold the house - for the last time! Please keep us in your prayers over the next week that everything works out. We really need to make this work. It would be a huge blessing for our growing family right now!!!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Okay, I couldn't let today pass by w/o posting a small birthday wish for the best husband and daddy around. I am so blessed to have a husband like Brandon. He's a wonderful father to Dayton and I can't wait to see what a little Daddy's girl we'll have on our hands w/ Mallory. All of our love goes out to him today and always. I think back to his first birthday that we spent as a couple and it seems like so long ago. It's been wonderful sharing so much of his life w/ him and I look forward to so many years ahead!

That's all I've got - stay tuned for pics of his birthday. I hope he likes his birthday "surprise"...

Are you ready for some football???

Well, Dayton sure is! I think he's just about the happiest two year old alive right now. He had a fun-filled, football-filled weekend so he is on cloud nine. We saw the Ricebirds on Friday night, headed to Austin and saw UT on Saturday, then headed to the bay on Sunday (where he took 3, yes 3, footballs w/ him) and came home yesterday. It was a blast. Here are some pictures from our weekend. Mallory also had her taste of Texas football and she did fabulously. What a trooper. I guess I was really excited myself b/c she bounced around all day - I think my adrenaline was rubbing off on her. We are all tired but it was so much fun. Now it's just gonna be hard to make it through the next two weeks until Dayton can go watch the Ricebirds and Longhorns again. He'd like to go "right now!"

Daddy styled Date's hair in a mohawk the other night after bathtime - pretty funny!

Here is my little muscle man ready for the Ricebird pep rally:

His 3 point stance:

Here are the kiddos at the pep rally on Friday - too cute!

Here's Date at the game on Friday - he was so into it. He just soaked it all in - very well behaved - I was so proud of him:

Here's Dayton on Saturday in front of the big Bevo - we have about 6 or 7 of these now - the first one of him when he was around 6 months I think - I'd love to make a collage of all of these pics one day when he's like 18. Every time we go to Austin, we try to get a new pic like this - he's growing up so much! :)

Yes, that is THE Earl Campbell!!! He just happened to be signing autographs outside of the Co-op while we were shopping in there. We stood in line for about 45 minutes and got a little mini helmet signed to put in Dayton's room. It was really neat!

Here we are when we got to the game. We walked Date down to the bottom rail for warm-ups so he could get a really good view of the field.

Daddy explains to Dayton in full detail everything that is going on. I think Date "learned" a lot about UT football on Saturday - Daddy made sure of it!

The cutest little Hook'em Horns you'll ever see (with a little help from Daddy!)

A view from our seats. They are pretty good seats and really close to the aisle and exit, which Brandon requested for his pregnant wife and 2 year old son :) This came in handy for all of the potty breaks and food runs!

Here is Dayton's prized possession from the weekend - He's been asking for this set of "Football Guys" since the spring scrimmage a while back. We said no then - they are $30!!! We finally gave in on Saturday and it has been quite the investment already - he carries them everywhere and loves to play with them. We will try our best not to lose any for the time being!
