Yep, my fellow bloggers and blog followers – that has been the theme lately. Just stay above the water and don’t drown or get knocked down by the crashing waves! I am happy to report, so far we have been successful. The St. Philip Dinner/Dance is now behind us and oh was it fabulous! We had a blast and I’d be willing to say that all of everyone’s hard work paid off. I promised myself I’d get a picture of me and my hunk of a husband but somehow, that didn’t happen, so sorry – no pics of us :( However, I do have a lot of catching up to do as far as kid pics! We attended the annual Yachty-gras parade and festivities at Kemah Boardwalk last weekend (the 18th) and it was so fun and so great to get away. The kids had a blast regardless of the nasty weather and Mallory’s touch of bronchitis (I’m telling you, when it rains, it pours around this household). Anyways, we are all feeling better and gearing up for Dayton’s first of two birthday bashes this Friday. We’ll be having his “friend” party – camping themed and you should see Camp Zabodyn right now – it’s gonna be a fun one. And, since one party is never enough, we’ll be celebrating again next Friday (on his actual bday) with all of our family – a crawfish boil, of course. And if you don’t think it’s possible to find hundreds of cute crawfish decorations out there, you are so wrong. Mommy has had so much fun planning these parties – I’m just a little drained. But, you guys know me, and I can’t imagine it any other way! So, without further anticipation, here are some pics from two (yes, two) weekends ago!
Here is one of our first attempts at Mallory with braided pigtails – you can’t see them very well, but they were pretty cute:
Since the weather was bad at Kemah, we spent the afternoon at Space Center Houston on the way there. The kids had a great time!
Mallory, sticking out her tongue, is her new way of protesting pictures…
While in the “space shuttle”, Mallory had a blonde moment and walked right into a wall of Plexiglas not realizing it was there. Poor thing hurt her face but girl’s gotta learn…
How cute are these kiddos?
Ready for the parade:
My poor little sweetheart was a little under the weather, but we kept her nice and bundled up and once she got out there, she was loving her some beads (I’m a little worried at how much she likes catching beads – flash forward about 15 years – yikes! No NOLA or Galveston trips for Mallory!)
We were so happy to have Aunt Samantha join us – it was so great!
Does she look sick here???? Crawling up the fence to get a better view of the boats:
Check out all her beads:
Dayton had lots of beads, too!
Tongue shot again…
Here they are on Fat Tuesday morning before Dayton’s mardi gras parade at school:
That’s Dayton by his teacher – doesn’t he look so happy? It warms my heart to know how much he loves his school!
Do you recognize these two? It’s Anna and Brock! Aren’t they just the two cutest first graders ever? And it just so happened to be Anna’s bday that day so we gave her some special Birthday girl beads and we brought Brock back some NO Saints beads from Kemah. So fun!
And here’s Bryn and Mallory. Love this pic. The pre-k 3’s went by too quick, so I missed Will and Luke!
On the way home from Kemah, we stopped by a Cavendar’s and picked up some new boots for Date and Mally. Dayton got some dark ostrich boots w/ camouflage tops (hard to explain, but super cool!) and Miss Mallory had to have pink ones. She also wouldn’t leave without a matching pink cowgirl hat. So, here she is sporting her new boots for the first time on Sunday:
So now I’m somewhat caught up. I promise to try to do better! :)
