This week has gone by so fast. We have decided to try to get our house on the market w/i the next month or so, so that leaves me in a fast furry to get this place looking like a wonderful place to live ;) I started on Monday w/ the living area (I'm leaving the hardest rooms for last). I was able to clean out the entire living room and get all (yes, all) of Dayton's toys hidden and stored away out of site. Thank goodness we have a great coffee table that doubles as a toy box - I totally recommend this for anyone looking to have kids in the near future. If we have guests coming over, I just open the lid and get to chunkin' stuff in there and viola - out of site and out of mind! Anyways, I packed up all of our dvd's, the lamp, all the magazine, blankets, pretty much everything besides furniture, the t.v. and Dayton's book basket. One room checked off my list.
Then, I did the dining room and the guest bathroom - two more "easy" rooms. They look great! I then tackled Dayton's room which was a little harder. We'd been storing misc. stuff in his extra closet for quite some time now so I had a lot of cleaning to do in there. Dayton just looked at me in disbelief - why are you destroying my room and packing up all of my toys? Brandon and I found my box of pictures from college - HILARIOUS! Oh my goodness, we sat and laughed for about an hour. We would start laughing and Dayton would laugh along with us. I told Brandon that this is probably the last time he'll ever get to see these pictures. Don't want him to see his Mommy at her best ;)(Standing on the kitchen in table in Cassie's REBEL shirt - omg) We had some FUN times in good ole' 424. I'm gonna get an album for all the pictures - you guys have got to see them!
Dayton's room was completed that night b/c we had to move everything out so he could actually get to his bed. Tuesday, I'm really not sure what I did, but I only managed to get the hall closet done. It's never looked that good!
Wednesday I got a little crazy and decided I would paint our master bath while Dayton was down for a nap - stupid, I know. How was I going to tape off, paint and clean up w/i a one hour long nap? I was running like a mad woman. I was kinda sad to see my Tiffany blue go, but Brandon said if we ever wanted to sell this house, that room HAD to be a neutral color. I managed to slap a coat on before the little monster woke up and Brandon helped me finish it off that night. I bought all new accessories and a new shower curtain and it looks pretty good. I was pleased w/ my one day transformation.
The hardest rooms are the ones I have left - our bedroom, the office and the kitchen - yikes! With dance starting this coming week, I'm gonna be crunched for time, but I'll just have to take it little by little. It will gone - that's what I keep telling myself!
Don't ask me what we're going to do if we actually sell this place - we don't know. We're going to be building out at El Prado (by the country club) sometime soon. We'll see... We're still working on finalizing plans and such. Please pray for us over the next couple of months - we're gonna need it. Lots of decisions to make and we want to do what's best for us as a family.
If you know of anyone looking for a great place to live, pass the word along. We'd like to get this place sold. It's a great place w/ a lot of great memories, we are just full to the brim and it's time to make new memories in a new place...
