I’m No Expert…

But in case you haven’t noticed, I’m a little (well, okay, I admit it – very) obsessed with children’s clothing.  It’s an addiction that I feel like I can not control.  Brandon and I have had numerous conversations about it and we’ve both come to the realization that I will not stop buying cute kids clothes until they a.) stop making them or b.) my kids kick and scream and refuse to wear them (probably the second option).  Anyways, I often roam the clothing dept at Wal-Mart looking for good little bargains, and I do recall last year seeing the most adorable $5 and $6 sundresses and being so sad b/c they were only in sizes 12 months – 5T and Mallory wasn’t that big yet.  Well, well, well, this year, I was prepared and have been on the look out for the cute cheap sundresses and I got my wish!  I found 2 adorable $6 ones last week in Mallory’s size and I found 3 $5 ones this morning – that’s FIVE dresses for less than $30!!!  I was very proud of my bargain shopping.  Now this probably isn’t considered such a bargain when it comes to me b/c of my addiction – most people would see them, think they were cute, pick out one and be proud of their steal.  Me, on the other hand, sees them, sees the price and feels like I need to buy one in every color/style b/c they are so cheap – not so smart.  None the less, I just wanted to tell all of you Moms of girls ages 12 months – 5t to go to Wal-Mart and get you some of these precious sundresses – great for play time, great for swimsuit cover ups, dress them up w/ cute sandals and a bow and great for church :)  Can’t beat it, and now that I’ve perused all the inventory and bought what I needed, it’s your turn to find your daughter’s size.  Don’t worry Traci, Aunt Jenna will be on the look out again come next March and I’ll hook Miss Vivianne up w/ some cute dresses.  She won’t be big enough this summer for the bargain buys – as if that little princess will be wearing bargain buys!?!?!

Here are some pictures of the ones I chose:

$5:

Faded Glory - Baby Girls' Striped Ruffle Dress

$5:

Faded Glory - Baby Girls' Floral Pocket Dress

$5:

Faded Glory - Baby Girls' Tiered Halter Dress

Couldn’t find the two $6 ones on the website, but that’s another option if you’re interested in them – check ‘em out online :)

Help, I’m Falling…

And I can’t get up!

Yes, I know you know where this is going…

I’m only sharing this because (not gonna say any names) I know some of you have done the same.  Apparently 5:00 a.m. is too early to be working out because even after running for over 17 minutes, I managed to lose my concentration and get off stride and BOOM – literally, BOOM, I tripped over my own two feet and slid off the back of the treadmill at Snap…

It all happened so quickly, I just remember thinking get off this thing – they can give you burns like you’ve never seen.  I’ve seen it happen to kids – but here was me, a grown adult, trying not to get injured by the treadmill.  I managed to fall to my knees and very awkwardly make my way off and up as fast as I could.  The very sweet, sweet people that witnessed it were so nice in not making a big deal of it, but I’m sure they wanted to laugh just a little.  I think I would probably laugh a lot – what I’d give to get my hands on the 24-hour surveillance camera video of me falling – ha!  I’d probably be a youtube celebrity.  I was soooo embarrassed and didn’t want to pull my pants up to see if I’d done any damage, so I just moved on to weight lifting – something a little safer for me at that point.  My battle scars are two road rash looking boo-boos on both knees – nice.  One of which is pretty swollen.  I also managed to tweak the left side of my neck so it hurts when I look to the left – fabulous.  I soaked in a warm bath this morning and I’m feeling a little better.

When I got home and told Brandon, his first response wasn’t “Are you okay?” “Did you get hurt?” It was “That’s gonna make a good blog post!” So, this lousy post is written in honor of my very supportive husband…

CeLeBrAtE…

Celebrate birthdays, celebrate life, celebrate the fact the your loved ones are healthy and happy – so many reasons to celebrate.  SO – that’s just what we did :)

Friday morning, we celebrated the March birthdays w/ Dayton’s class – one more bday celebration for Dayton in 2011.

Mallory was such a big girl and was invited to sit at the table w/ the 3’s.

Here is the birthday boy:

And, here they both are saying their prayer before they eat – look how hard Date is praying and look at Mallory’s sweet hands pressed together :)IMG_0650

On Saturday morning, we celebrated some more.  First, Mommy celebrated because she rolled out of bed w/o a headache from the night before which was a miracle in itself.  Then we celebrated the beautiful weather by staying outside all morning.  Mommy and Daddy worked hard on the yard planting all of our new plants for spring and Dayton and Mallory played hard on all their outside toys –no pictures from all of that, sorry.  Mommy was filthy – head to foot so couldn’t get ahold of the camera!

On Saturday afternoon, we celebrated an afternoon/evening out.  When we got out of the yard, we cleaned up, gobbled up some Subway, and headed to Sugar Land to enjoy some shopping  and eating at Escalante’s.

All cleaned up after hours in the dirt – ready to go shopping :)

Her newest Mud Pie attire – so glad they are carrying a bigger size so we can keep wearing their clothes :) IMG_0656

Did you really think we could go to the mall without stopping by Build a Bear?  Dayton got a gift card for his birthday from Austin, so he got build a special one by himself – sorry Mallory, maybe next time (she didn’t mind one bit).  Dayton chose EB from the movie HOP that comes out this weekend :)

You know it’s bad when the workers at Build a Bear recognize you and your kids… IMG_0660

Here are my kids posing with the mannequins at Express.  I’m pretty sure the people around us thought we were crazy…IMG_0661

After shopping, we headed over to the Town Square to enjoy a little fresh air, a little more shopping and dinner. IMG_0662

Dayton is becoming quite the photographer – he loves to use Mommy’s new “little” camera:

The following pics were taken because I was forced to leave LOFT b/c Mally was not crying but shrilling at the top of her lungs and interrupting all other shoppers so I was very embarrassed.  We went and sat outside and waited for Daddy and Date to get out of their store.  I tried to make the most of the beautiful flowers and bench and snap a couple of pics:IMG_0668 IMG_0670 IMG_0672 IMG_0673

Heating it Up…

for Hospice – Brandon and I had a wonderful time on Friday night at the Hospice fundraiser/cook-off.  We enjoyed walking around and visiting w/ everyone at the cook-off and we enjoyed watching the Slags perform.  It was a very last minute night out, but I must say we definitely made the most of it and it was great.  We even got a picture which was really out of the ordinary, so I felt the need to share this post.  :)  More pictures from our weekend to come soon!

Her eyes were way too involved in Dora to look at the camera, oh well…

Go Away, Allergies!

So the Zabodyn household has been fighting one mean battle over this past week – the fight w/ allergies – and I hate to say, but we are losing right now.  The kids are constantly sneezing, weezing and coughing and Mommy’s been fighting off sinus headaches – yuck!  We are fighting through it; it just stinks that w/ the nice weather we’ve been having, we still haven’t been able to go outside as much as we want b/c of all the pollen.  I even picked up Date from school before naps yesterday b/c the afternoon teacher has been telling me he coughs throughout nap time and I’d hate for him to wake any of the other nappers up :(  So I brought him home to give him medicine and let him take a nap here so I could monitor him – yeah right!  You think that kid took a nap?  No way – he had a fun afternoon of playing his new dsi game and watching tv.  When Mally woke up, we went and got snoballs – Mallory’s first.  Then went to MeMe and Grandpa’s to play on the new playground equipment at Hutchins – it’s a little too big for us, but we love it!  It was a fun day and the kids were worn out last night.  However, Dayton thinks he needs to leave school every day from now on before nap time – not so much!

Here are some pictures from yesterday and a few from here and there over the past week!

This girl loves her some Star Wars figures – she is definitely easy going when it comes to play time – whatever Dayton plays with, she plays with, too.  Their favorite thing to do together is color, but Star Wars is starting to run a close race w/ that!

On Sunday evening we had crawfish at DeDe and PaPa’s while we watched Texas lose that horrific game – can’t get the ball in within five seconds, don’t deserve to win – all I’m gonna say about that – anyways, I tried to get the kids in front of the azalea blooms outside – this wouldn’t have been my first choice of wardrobe, but it’s what they were wearing.  Probably could’ve got some really good shots of them in some more neutral colors – oh well!  As you can see, they weren’t too in to cooperating anyways – Dayton can’t decide how he wants to smile these days and Mallory prefers to not smile for pictures at all…

Mallory received a beautiful James Avery necklace w/ two different charms from her Godparents – Uncle Coby and Aunt Sandie – for baptism last January.  On Tuesday, we decided to see if Mallory was a “big” girl and ready to wear it.  She absolutely loved it and I see lots more jewelry wearing in our future :)

Look at my cute little strawberry shortcake.  We have lots and lots of this line from Gymboree so get used to seeing her dressed in strawberry “stuff”!

 IMG_0601 IMG_0602 IMG_0603

Here are all of our pictures from yesterday afternoon – Mallory loved her snoball and Mommy was very grateful that they have a variety of “clear” flavors to choose from (Mallory was of course inclined to get strawberry flavor to match her wardrobe!)– saved her white capris from getting stained b/c they were covered in clear snoball juice which is why went to the playground with no pants on – oops!

Dayton prefers to eat “The Hulk”.  Mallory is already picking ice off her pants…

Here we go again with the crazy smiles: IMG_0612

Mallory also stole Mommy’s pickle.  Since Mommy can’t afford to eat a snoball these days, atleast she can get a pickle and/or cup of ice when we go!  I was cracking up while I was taking these pictures.  She couldn’t decide if she liked it or not:

Nice diaper, Mallory.  Nice hair, Mallory.

Not sure what this pose is by Dayton – I’m sure he was fighting off some bad guys or something… IMG_0628

Okay, I think giving up facebook is going to be great for me!  This is my 3rd post in two days and I’m carrying my camera around with me everywhere trying to always think about my next post – so fun! :)
