Little Miss U.S.A.

Miss Mallory wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  We, of course, are already dressed for the occasion – enjoy and be safe ;)

It’s hard to see, but if you look really closely, you can notice a little white in Mally’s mouth – she now has both front teeth cutting through – growing girl ;)

Happy 6 Month Birthday, Mallory!

Already, my baby girl is 6 months old today.  Wow – it’s amazing how fast time flies by.  Here is what Mallory Marie is up to at 6 months old:

-Still sleeping through the night

-Still only cat-napping during the day

-Eating veggies – her menu consists of sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, and peas; a little bit of apple juice/water; oatmeal w/ bananas; gums on wagon wheels starting today

-Down to 4 bottles a day – 3 6 oz’ers and 1 8 oz’er

-Wears 6-9 mth clothes – she’s a chubster!

-Sitting up like a pro

-Signs of wanting to crawls – going backwards and rocking pretty well these days – it’s only a matter of time

-Giggles like crazy at Big Brother Date

-Starting to get excited about the smallest things – shrills a lot

-cut her first tooth – her bottom front left one…

-Loves the water – baths and the pool

I’m sure there’s so much more to add, but it’s hard to think of everything all at once.  She is the best baby in the world and we love her to pieces.  She is just more and more fun every day!

Swimming last week – my two little swimsuit models!

DaNcE ReCiTaL…

Well, I’ve now survived 6 recitals – the years are flying by.  I am happy to say that everything went wonderfully on Saturday night.  I had one crier, but that can be expected – no biggie!  Things ran smoothly and it feels so great to have it all behind me for another year!!!!  Here are some pics for you to enjoy :)

Here are the kiddos on Friday morning when we were getting ready to decorate the auditorium.  Mallory was the perfect little Dance Pizzazz Mascot!

Here they are before the recital.  Mallory was of course dressed like the little ballerina that she is!!!

Ready for the show to begin!!!

IMG_2812

Backstage before the show – I LOVE these girls – this is Anne Marie and Lauren – they have been wonderful assistants this year and I will miss Lauren so much next year.  Not only she is an awesome teacher, Dayton adores her as his babysitter!  Anne Marie will be back for one more year and little does she know but she’s going to be taking Lauren’s place in the babysitting dept. too ;)  The joys of working for me – ha!

I added this one so you could get a small idea of what the backdrop looked like, but this really doesn’t do it justice…

Okay, I’m a very proud Aunt.  Here are my two favorite little dancers in the world – Anna and Bryn.  They did wonderful in their numbers.  I was proud of them.  I’m so lucky to get to teach them every week :)

Here’s proof that I did dance.  Thought I was going to need oxygen when I was done, but I made it!!!

After the show – I think this is the greatest picture!!!!IMG_3119

What would I do w/o Brandon?  We survived yet another dance recital – yea!!!!IMG_3126 IMG_3127

A few more years and I’ll be able to teach Miss Mallory – how exciting and unbelievable is that – my own little dancer!?!?!  Brandon was proud to report that she was dancing along upstairs.  He said her favorite song was “Party in the USA”…

Mommy, Mallory and MeMe:

I was EXTREMELY excited to have Traci there for me this year.  Thank you so much for coming – you don’t know how much it means to me.  It’s one thing for us all to go to work everyday and do our jobs, but to get to share what I do w/ one of my best friends is the most special feeling in the world.  She made my night and when I looked out into the audience right before the show began and saw her, it made me so ready to “start the show” and share all of my dancers w/ her.  Then, afterwards, she was sweet enough to hold Mallory the whole time we undecorated and then she had to head home before I even got to feed her supper – bummer, I owe you a glass, no wait, a bottle of wine – thanks girl!  High marks for you in my book ;)

IMG_3130

I love this picture – here are me and my girls – My Three beautiful dancers!  Maybe one day they’ll be taking over Dance Pizzazz for me – they’re amazing – I love these girls and aren’t they all beautiful???

Well, that sums up the recital.  Brandon said that having a wedding theme was brilliant because recitals and weddings are so much alike – they take months and months of planning, they cost a fortune, the decorating never ends, and it’s all over w/ in the course of a few hours – so true!  None the less, it’s all said and done.  I’ve got parties this week and then it’s officially summer time for me and my kiddos – can’t wait!!!

The Only Type of Luck We Have…

Is usually BAD!  Yesterday was NOT a good day.  I was dreaming about the backdrop all Wed night and what needed to be changed even though it was completed and I had everything in order.  Decided to make some major last minute changes and this required me to make 50 new flowers – painted, glittered and glued w/ rhinestone centers – I’m losing it!  Worked on that feverishly all day, then went to pick up all of my recital t-shirts only to find they had been printed w/ the wrong screen-back – Pizzazz was mis-spelt along w/ about 10 of the girls names.  Just an oversight I’m sure, but enough to drive me crazy (they are done now correctly as of 11:34 last night).  Then, went to pick up programs and they didn’t order enough paper so they won’t be ready til around 3:00 today – anything else.  Come on and hit me w/ your best shot – after yesterday, I’m ready to conquer the world.  Hope we got all the bad stuff out of the way and it’s onward and upward from here.  Until next time, when all the craziness is over:  Dream big, love hard and DANCE like no one’s watching (except a complete auditorium full of people; oh man, hands are sweating already….)

Chompers…

Okay, had to get a really quick post in while I’m in b/w recital tasks!  I am glad (and a little sad) to say that Miss Mallory has her first tooth cutting through!  I can’t believe my little baby is growing so fast!  She’ll be six months on Monday and already – the signs of her first tooth.  You can’t see it that well, but let me tell you, you put your finger in her mouth and she will introduce you to her first chomper!  Get ready Date, Mallory will be ready to defend herself against you in a very short time…

Knock on wood, no fussy feverish baby just yet like we had w/ Date when he cut teeth.  I know it’s coming, but maybe God is being really good to me and is going to let it wait til after this weekend ;)

Will I Ever “Catch Up”????

I swear every time I sit down to write a blog, the first title that comes to mind is “Catching Up”.  Seems I’m always behind on these things.  None the less, here I go again.  This will get you caught up through today and from here, there’s no telling when I’ll get to post again over the next couple of crazy days!!!!

Here are the last pics we have w/ our Lucy – it was a rough afternoon last Tuesday, but I know she is where she needs to be…

IMG_5534 IMG_5535

These little guys are living on our back porch.  I was trying to get a good pic of them but couldn’t get my lighting right so I busted out the flash and boy did that make them go crazy – so cute!!!

IMG_5542 IMG_5543

Hanging out…

IMG_5553

Here’s Date showing off his new pet fish, Gilbert.  He’s gotta a fancy little tank w/ an led light that even changes colors – so fun and easy to keep up w/ and I’m glad to report that he’s still alive ;)

IMG_5554

Meet Gilbert.  Definently not as cute and fun as Lucy but guaranteed to never have fleas…

IMG_5558

We had our entire yard re-landscaped last week.  After we did it the first time, not much was able to survive the snow and freezing over the winter, so we hired someone to do it for us this time around ;)

IMG_5564 IMG_5567 IMG_5568 IMG_5573 IMG_5575

I tried to get some cute pics of her after we ate out the other night, but she wasn’t too into cooperating…

IMG_5577 IMG_5584 IMG_5585

Thanks Aunt Amy for bringing us the I heart NY gear!!!

IMG_5589

We went swimming again on Sunday.  It was pretty chilly but fun – I’m just in need of some real SUN – no more clouds and rain ;)

IMG_5590 IMG_5598 IMG_5605

That brings us to this morning.  Look at this little girl ready to get on the go!!!
