Longhorn Photoshoot…

So a few months ago, I saw an ad on Facebook posted by the University Coop (UT’s bookstore) looking for a father/son combo to do a Father’s Day ad campaign photoshoot for them.  I knew Brandon would probably not be too happy with me, but I went ahead and submitted info and photos of my handsome husband and son.  Well a few days later, I heard back that they had been chosen for the shoot! We headed to Austin a few Fridays back and the boys got a chance to be models for the morning while Mally and Mommy got a chance to shop.  It was extremely windy and chilly that morning but the boys were great sports being that most of their pics are in short-sleeved shirts and shorts.  I am so proud of Brandon for being such a good sport through this whole process.  These pics will be something I’ll have forever and kind of a cool thing for them to look back on one day.  They’ll be in a virtual marketing campaign that will be released on May 29th promoting Father’s Day.  Ham-it-up Mallory also made an impression of her own on the guy in charge and they want us to bring her back maybe this summer for her very own photoshoot.  How fun is that?  Apparently this momma is the only ugly duckling out of the group – ha!  Anyways, keep in mind that Brandon did NOT get to choose what he wore for the pics (hence the apron) making him that much more of a good sport!

And these make me laugh b/c if you know Brandon, you know this truck is the farthest thing away from his car that he would ever drive.  And I like the fact that he’s wearing a shirt that says “Super Dad”. Haha!

Brandon said that Dayton hated this hat.  He wore it for one pic, threw it in the water (nice) and then they left it at the place they took these pictures.  Shame on them!  FatherDay_Country055

Easter Overload…

So why am I blogging on the THE most stressful week of the year?  I really don’t know how to answer that question.  Stress relief.  Takes my mind off things.  Puts off putting up the piles of laundry that are stacking up in my laundry room at this moment.  I guess a little bit of everything.  Anywho, here is my “Easter in a nutshell” post.  Not really gonna talk about al the pics; this was our Easter this year!

Dayton’s egg hunt at school – pretty cool b/c it was a scavenger hunt in a way – they could only pick up the eggs w/ their first name, last name, and then they had a certain number and a certain letter to find.  I loved the idea! DSC_0184

Ready for church – a cute pair.  Mallory picked out her own Easter dress this year.  I’d put off the tulle and glitter as long as possible.  Boy did we regret letting her have what she wanted during mass.  Our whole pew was covered in glitter.  My sweaty hands were solid glitter.  Dayton’s poor face had glitter – fairy dust everywhere – but I admit, she did look pretty cute ;)

Quite a feast at my parents for lunch – here’s the meat.  Brandon and I gave up beef and sweets for Lent so we were in heaven w/ all this bbq!
